Cleveland County

It was started last yeat with a bell only, but the bell wasnt to be painted,
The bell is a true railroad bell made in NC.
The figures were added just so they could be painted by each school..
The idea started last year, but was left hanging for while.
It was done as last min thing, . Becouse both Taylors age and health are a concern and the game is early on.

Cleveland County

Well damn after hauling the Taylormade Classic over to Crest Thur. Thought for sure id be bringing it back to Shelby.
Congrats to Ctest great
game plan, whipped us from start to finish..
Enjoy 1st year of The classic Trophy.
Who designed that trophy. 😂 Looks like the Charger came from Temu with the disclaimer (Object appears bigger than actual size)
I think a local company should sponsor the trophy and find a real artist to redesign it so both schools will be proud to win it.

Tarboro vs TTATC(Southwest Edgecombe)

Idk about that. I mean, three shutouts to start the season?? Ehh. Could be better lol.
Seriously, somebody has to eventually score. If we play at least average, we should be able to see if the lights still work on the visitor's side of the scoreboard. If we play like we did vs E. Wayne, then 4 straight shutouts it is. One thing is for sure though... Tarboro won't be scoring 75 points. Our defense has improved well. Will it be well enough? I don't know. But I do know that there will be pads cracking for both teams.
I wonder if our staff has sense enough to play defense like Mt. Airy did. Something tells me no..

Butler at Richmond

I concur on that one. Benedictine just lost to Buford out of GA by 1 point. Chambers also played Highland Springs out of Virginia, who won a couple of State Championship recently. Creek is actually trying to schedule a game with Benedictine during our bye week, since our game against Cardinal Gibbons fail through. Neither of those teams are cupcakes.
Benedictine was a little over ambitious with their scheduling: Rabun Gap, Buford and they were supposed to play Archbishop Moeller. But I think that would be a good matchup. Still kind of a load for them with Ware County and Warner Robins in that region. Mallard Creek is tough. Not sure what they were thinking there to be honest.

Should Mooresville beef up their non conference schedule

Mooresville is growing and getting some good talent coming in. So should Mooresville strengthen up their non conference schedule. Who would you like to see them play.
I think they should definitely take out West Rowan, normally Davie is a good matchup for Mooresville but they're just having a down year for a super young team(a freshman started against North Davidson last night), but if they take out West Rowan id say probably a team like East Forsyth or someone like that.

Yes. And that’s no question.

I’m fine playing Davie Reagan and Providence, they are at least 4A and see good competition through the year as well.

West Rowan needs to go. We have outgrown that game now. It worst if you’re gonna play down, it needs to be Statesville. But that’s in a worst case scenario.

My first choice would be to play Tabor over West Rowan. Wouldn’t mind seeing teams like Grimsley, Hough, Richmond, Watauga, AC Reynolds, East Forsyth, etc occupy that spot

Tarboro vs TTATC(Southwest Edgecombe)

The scary thing is that with as many playmakers Tarboro has on offense - I think Tarboros strength is on defense.

post scores for -9-06

They need to put in some new wrinkles in the passing game with short throws. Some bubble screens to #3, motion him into the flat, and have another wr clear the flat out. Put him in a bunch formation with Clem and Shore...all three of those guys can house it at any time. Roll the QB and run levels on that side to shorten the throw needed.

But I agree #3 needs a minimum of 10 touches/game imho.
Well I agree with you completely. Right now the passing game is limited to taking a couple shots downfield and that's just not #10's game, he doesn't have the arm strength to pose a threat in the vertical passing game. Even on the bomb to #3 last night it was #3 making a play on a ball that was underthrown. By and large they've just largely scrapped the passing attack all together since the Franklin game though and given how ineffective it was that night I understand it but you've got to be creative (something I know Watson has in his bag) and go a different way because it just puts too much onus on #5 ( who is not ready to carry that kind of load like Stalcup did yet) and #2 to produce all the offense.

#3 is more than capable of racking up YAC, get him the ball out in the flats and let him go to work (#10 has shown he can do ok in the short passing game, we saw them effectively get the ball in Stalcup's hands in the passing game that way last year). We also saw the damage #3 can do on the jet sweep last year against Mount Airy. The bottomline is the objective is to get the ball in your best athlete(s) hands, get it to #3 in space and let him create. They aren't maximizing that at the moment and that's something that will have to be rectified if this team wants to compete for a conference championship and make a deep run.

To give #10 some credit, the young man has good wheels at QB, a few more designed runs for him wouldn't be a bad thing (although the fumbles are a real problem), it gets him more involved and opens things up for others.
