West Charlotte at Hickory

Didn't say I figured WC out...just saying that just like Crest and NL,,,the 2 teams that WC played shot themselves in the foot also...I still believe West will pull it out but a lot closer than people think...Some of the West fans are making the team sound indestructible...they have 2 close losses...might have 3 🫡
Nope, they're not immune to losing. This year is one for us to grow on. With a roster full of sophomores and juniors we're just happy to get back to respectability.

However, I will add that the last two games we played in we're on grass, the speed will show up even greater on that turf tomorrow night being that we practice and play on turf. It'll be an exciting game.

Possible conferences in the west

NW 4A/3A
Hibriten 4A
Ashe 4A
Wilkes Central 4A
W. Caldwell 3A (53 miles to Ashe)
W. Wilkes 3A
N. Wilkes 3A

I have heard of a proposal similar to this. It would be a much weaker conference that what we've had for the past 4 years. 20 years ago this was our conference but West Wilkes and West Caldwell were both good teams then.
If I take the Caldwell County schools out of this conference, there are other places I could put them, but then I don't know what to do with Ashe and Wilkes Central. I could put all three of those 4A schools in the CVAC (taking out Lincoln Charter and W. Iredell) for a nine-team conference and put W. Caldwell in the Western Highlands and the Wilkes schools in the Northern Foothills 2A/3A but then there would be ten teams in that conference.

South Carolina 5A Championship Div-1, Div-2 Games

South Carolina plays all state championships at the same venue so the playoffs take place from Thursday to Saturday. The times rotate to the classes so 1 classification doesn't always get the prime Friday night spot. Just the 5A turn to be the 2pm game. Games used to be at Williams -Brice but the cost got to be too much, among other reasons.

Good picks Jackets.

By the way Dutch Fork and Irmo are in the same region (conference) even though Irmo is representing the Lower state and Dutch Fork the Upper state, they are 7 miles a part. Go figure that one out lol
About like 71st and Douglas Byrd playing for the 4 single A title back in 2008

West Charlotte at Hickory

West has one task,I have watched your last 2 games online....the other teams shot themselves in the foot by missing easy passes and not running straight at you...Hickory will eat your defense up if you let them....Dont look at the last game against NL....Hickory was comfortably ahead with 4 minutes left and started adding 2nd string in and it almost cost them...Crest had Hickory figured out and then they fell apart....These are 16,17,and 18 year old young men..you have to jump on Hickory early and alot because if it is close at half, they will figure you out...

Whiteville vs Northeastern

NE has the edge in speed yes and Whiteville has the edge in brute strength. In my opinion if Whiteville eats up the clock with their run game and shortens the game it's in their favor. If NE gets in an up & down the field game it's in their favor. Two good teams still playing, now who can impose their Will? Good luck to both but turnovers and special teams always finds a way to creep in, so I hope it's been preached constantly this week!
You are spot on. Nothing else needs to be said. I just hope whoever wins can bring the championship back to the East.

Possible conferences in the west

@FreedomAlum nice work. Things get a bit sparse with the 2 class rule. That's why I leaned on 3.

Some people will say...3 is too much! But in reality it's the same daggum schools...it just looks worse bc we're 8 instead of 4.
Thanks-I had fun with it, but it was a lot easier after you did most of the work of drawing the lines between the east and west.
