WRH. At Whiteville

Bud33345 you got it exactly right with Pack football. I would just add, they are playing better now than ever this season. If they can't contain Moss long night for Wallace.
If the wolfpack get past the dogs I'll be excited to see Moss in person against SWE! He is unbelievable! If he was at a 4A school he would be a power 5 recruit in my opinion. No question!

In no way disrespecting Moss but his numbers are not nowhere near as good as a couple of our guys. From the looks of it most of his yards are on the ground. Whiteville def. has the edge in the passing game though.

I would suspect with the blowouts Whiteville has handed out Moss and company has seen alot of sideline time where as WRH has been in more close games with the starters playing the majority of the time. So I wouldnt read too much into those numbers.

Moss has thrown for 12 TD's I think, at least thats the # on Max Preps. He seems to get in a "zone" sometimes and is basically unstoppable. We will see if he can rise to the occasion Thursday. He did in a loss at Mtn Heritage two years ago in the 3rd round , but we lost. Adding # 2 to our defense after an injury is a big help in stopping the run.

#2 is a physical specimen in of himself. If he could add more mass he could be a great LB at the next level in my opinion.

Would probably have 5 more TD's if not for dropped passes.

I know Mots has a gameplan but Whiteville plays a unique style of offense with alot of different looks. From the film they showed a wishbone look, a read option, a spread, the even showed a 2 TE look. It will be a chess match for sure

He played in his first game against South Columbus out because of broke ankle before the season started. Wish he had one more year left.He can also play DB or S or RB.Even played QB in middle school.

Kid has a nose for the ball. He hunts ball carriers down. He is the kind of kid you want on your defense that's for sure.

He is a great kid and really loves to play the game.Always looking for ways to improve his game.I think he can play at the next level somewhere.

No better game to prove himself than the one he will get tomorrow night.

Man, been tossing around the idea of going to Whiteville tomorrow for this game then make the short drive up 74 to Laurinburg to see SC vs SC Friday since they are holding to the original schedule.

I would love to meet you guys. I have met a few posters up here at games and I have always enjoyed their company. dogs79, dagoob, otis are a great group of guys. Let me see how work is going to shake out tomorrow. I took off Friday maybe I can pull it off. If I run late at work I will probably run over to see SWE vs EB or West Craven vs Kinston to check Otis' team out instead.

Was reading back through this thread to see what other posters thought of Whiteville and noticed a couple of post by hayseed and some other WRH posters about the Whiteville coach. I get he use to coach at WRH but is he really going to run the wing t against his former team with the arm talent he has at QB? What???? His Aztec best run the spread and get those athletes out in space against a team like WRH in my opinion! Dont let WRH dline stifle your athletes in tight spaces. I seen them run spread on film earlier in the year against the bigger schools but scaled back to wing t and wishbone formations in conference depending on the situation. With a kid like Moss it would be spread or pro style all day, with other situational formations, and its not even a question. He is your best athlete and an incredible passer. Give that kid space to make big plays. The wing t the whole game is a waste of his talents in my opinion. Maybe some of the Whiteville guys could chime in on their thoughts? From what I saw ( I watched 8 full games) that the coach let the situation dictate what formation he runs and that's pretty impressive. Some poster here seem to think he runs 1 formation the whole game.

We hear you about the spread but we really lack the hands to make it work.We have the speed and verticals but as some will tell you our hands so far have been below average.

I get that, but from what I saw he ran multiple formations in many of those games. It seemed like his playbook was very diverse. He even had the freaky read option! That's not easy to pull off at the high school level.

I doubt you will see any wing t. He will run all the other formations you talked about with something else thrown in like the power I or split backs with a slot back. Sometimes 3 or 4 receivers.

I don’t think he gonna deviate to much from the wing t plus wrh has played spread teams this year and power i teams got different looks so it will be a chess match at what works and what doesn’t work!! Last year against whiteville wrh throwed two passes and the be was completed lol I suspect wrh has a wrinkle or two in their offense as well!! So the chess match is upon I’ll be in the house on tomorrow night!! Go Dogs!!

Thanks for clearing that up. I was reading back and I all I could say is What? Really? Lol

Strick, he played center for Russell, was moved from tackle. You and I coached at same school at Whiteville. Always love Whiteville football. Always will. Your school board does a great job putting coaches in right place and hiring good coaches.

If you come to West Craven look for me in the endzone by the inflatable Eagle and the endzone camera. Be wearing a long drovers coat with wool lining.

Wallace is no push over and great team. Hell,Joey won 5 champ. there. Coach Motsinger one heck of a coach, coach Price good coach, should be a great game. But, coach Scott defense co. for Pack really good at making adjustments.
I like Pack when that get Moss in space and Bellamy running up middle.
I like Whiteville to win a close game, but who knows one could jump out big early. Wait and see. Should be packed house tomm. night.

The question is not the offense, I know what kind of DEFENSE WRH plays but do the play hard nose smash out DEFENSE in Whiteville’s conference or do they have to?

Good question Wiz.Normally SC and E B test us with their D this year in conf only Red Springs did. If WRH can play D like West Brunswick they will win.....again. Key is containing Moss if they can’t early he can take over.

Hey, if I come to this game can I borrow Moss Friday night so South central can beat Scotland? Asking for a friend? LOL:D

I read the breakdown on bud film study if whiteville s o line is weak then it will be a long nite wrh can get after the qb!now on the flip side if whiteville oline can hold , then they control the clock and the ball they win!!
