Whiteville @ South Columbus

I think SC ,Whiteville and EB will have trouble with any good passing game that are really coached and have rec. Usually if any of these make it to 3 round it sits in big time. But on our conf. no very good passing games, they try but not solid. Matt Scott might be best Defensive co- ordinater in east, that's saying a lot. Should be a good game Friday night. I just think SC has to many RB that can come at you,Spencer is good also at QB. Whiteville off. can flat out scat, defense not that big but quick . Get ready for a barn burner at TC.

I haven’t seen whiteville this year but they usually have some very good athletes....

Gotta love this time of year

If you go back and look at playoffs games between WRH and EB, I think you will find that EB holds a slight edge that includes years when Jack and Battle were over there. I have no idea how SC has faired over the years with WRH.

I'll say this. It seems from years past that there's something about that black and silver that makes the pack tremble just a little bit. That tremble will haunt them come Friday night. Looking forward to a packed house at The Corral and the ultimate in football atmosphere.

We had open week. So some of us dogs went to Elizabethtown to watch SC game. A ugly win is still a win, but we thought EB played better with more mistakes and one real bad call that cost EB the game. If SC has improved tremendously they got a shot at someone like WRH, but we didn't see it that night. I pick on ED posters, but I'm calling it like I see it.I'm definitely not always right

I'm really pulling for SC against whiteville. SC posters have proved they got class and only love their team. Trust me, some of ED posters have proved differently. They like haten. I can talk junk with the best and never get upset. How y'all like my song "Panthers living in the 0 shipyard"

Phantom. I remember when it seemed like we couldn't win in e-town. Times has changed lately. Could meet this year in playoffs in second round.

That was my whole issue with what you said Dogs, it came across as if you had something against south and I didn't feel like it should be warranted. We have no beef with the bulldogs, heck I know I took up for yall in a post when yall lost to ED and I know I myself personally have made plenty of trips to go support Coach price and JP when he was there. Nothing but respect for yalls program, we are just passionate about our football down here at south and it seems like we've been a bad play here or there from getting a championship in years past and every year we keep hoping its the year. This year is as deep in 2A as any year I can remember so its gonna be an uphill fight for anyone regardless of seeding. I just hope we can pull out a close victory this week over what I think will be a hard fought game at home.

Here's my prediction...

This thread has over 150 replies by this time next Saturday.
Reminds me of the 2013 game where WHS had to bring in extra bleachers, expecting a sold out crowd. 50/50 winnings will probably be over $1400. The entire county will be closed Friday night.

Whew this is already giving me a hyped up feeling. Going to be an amazing game with an unreplicable crowd experience. Biggest, loudest game any of these young men will see or have seen in their life.
Dove will have his boys ready!

We will certainly see but Packs QB is very shifty and can pass very accurately. Once the Pack settled on Ty Moss they have not lost and produced A LOT of points. Spencer has the experience and that could be the deciding factor in a game with all the hype and noise that will go on until and on Friday night. Moss could surprise us he has the tools.

I agree. Spencer is a load at QB & LB and Has experience and Moss is fast as lightning. Should be a fun one to watch.

My biggest concern when it comes to the south defense is when we play teams that run the triple option I've noticed that we try to play too much of this read stuff instead of playing assignment football and that gets back to coaching. Nothing against our coaches I think the world of all of them but maybe pull up a little game film from the 2nd round 2008 when a team named Lexington come to town with a beast of a running back #5 and a speedster quarterback #8, I remember we went into halftime down 14-0 and coach price wrote 2 numbers on the board #5 and #8 and circled them. He said "Buffkin you have #5 and BoBo you have #8 you follow them if they go to the water cooler I wanna know how many cups they drink" needless to say we advanced to the next round that night. Sometimes simple stupid is better than complex and smart. Just my two cents on stopping the option.

Amen to that. SPY!

The latest playoff brackets released by Nick Stevens of High School OT has all four of the Three Rivers teams going west in the playoffs. SC, EB, WHS and Red Springs. Go figure!!!!

I'm not surprised, could mean long travel for some teams. No 2A teams in mountains now so that means around Greensboro area and north there probably . If Northeastern gets a 1 or 2 seed in east someone will have 4-5 hour drive.

Well if you're south and you win Friday night you can't be but so mad with these brackets if that's how it actually falls, we caught a break with Shelby going 2AA. Not sure if we have the firepower to play with a team like reidsville or mountain heritage tho.

If Whiteville loses Friday note, they would most likely travel to #1 Reidsville next week which is very tough. SC can't complain. Mountain Heritage is a private school that's been pretty good. EB can't complain either,Whiteville needs # 1 seed to be comfortable.

Don't know why but Pack seems to play better at Vinegar Hill than Legion stadium when they play SC. We will see how they react tonight. My game plan for SC would be ground and pound, keep it on the ground and run your big full back 20+ times, if he gets over 100 yards I think SC wins. Pack will need to spread out the SC D and use their speed. SC experience at QB could be the biggest positive for them.

Where would the bulldogs be if they didn’t have the money to come to Tabor City and steal our coaches? ..... but seriously ..... is it game time yet?

Doubt WRH will blow out everybody into the 3rd round like they did in 1A. The coming weeks will be very interesting.
