Whiteville at Mtn. Heritage

Great season Wolfpack Good luck Mr Robinson And MH unless someone can scheme to stop him they will go far Final 52/44.

No doubt we did all we could this season Just looking out for us and a lot of other sports for the rest of the school year

LOL! You sure you guys didn't have a roundball on the field?I had to make sure I was on the fball board.....Heck of game...

I have to say that Whiteville is a class program. That sophomore QB is going to be tough the next two years. Heck, he was last night! Can't say enough about that WR core either. Just when I thought Heritage was going to make some key stops, those WR stepped up and made some great catches Also, you guys showed great poise and resilience by scoreing before the end of the half and converting on two huge 4th downs late in the 4th quarter. Great sportsmanship too! I hate this was a second round game. I thought it was impressive that Heritage scored every time they had the ball, had no turnovers, and committed few penelties. They executed almost perfectly all night. The line was nasty, and Trey, along with Dathan ran the ball hard all night long. Asheville paper is saying Trey had 31 carries for 271 and 7 touchdowns. He's the engine. Datsun also carried the ball for over 100 yards on the night. Defense has got to stiffen up for Hendersonville, but if the team executes on offense like they did last night, they'll be tough to stop.

Great post....Agree with all points but lots of offenses are really hitting their stride this time of year. Y’all will probably have to out score everybody in similar fashion to last night from here on out. I think u can.

Agreed, it gets tough on defenses this time of year because like you said, a lot of offenses are are in full stride. If any pack fans made the trip up, what did y'all think of Burnsville, the mountains, the stadium, etc??

It is an absolutely great place to play football. Great environment. I like how the stadium sits down the way it does, not quite a bowl since you can fall off a hill behind visitor bleachers, but has that effect, especially when it gets dark. I have read people complain about the field, but it was one of the better ones we played on in many respects. The mountains are great, the facilities are comparable to many 1a and 2a schools for visiting teams.

Congrats to Mtn. H on a hard earned win. Sounds like if y'all played 10 times that both teams would end up with about 5 wins. Congrats also to the Wolfpack on a great game and for a great season. Way to represent Columbus County!!

Thanks for the props. I think this was the 1st game I've ever seen or listened to where a team scored on every possession. I'm sure it was even more exciting in person. Yawl were just a little more perfect than we were. Great team and players. Too bad someone had to lose. Good luck from here on out.

Beautiful setting for a football field, hard to believe they found that much flat land up there. After the game while waiting on ride back to bus a police officer came by and said "get in I'll take you back to the top". Class folks up there. This should have been a later round game, NCHSAA seedings are a mess. Congrats to MHHS, you earned this one. Good luck next week. Proud of the Pack, you fought to the very end.

What a game from a fans' perspective....Lots of offense on both sides....Was very impressed with Whiteville, and the Sophomore QB Moss who will only get better from here on out...The WR #10 has the ability to play at the next level....What an incredible one-handed grab right before the half, right before the TD with .02 seconds left on the clock....One of the best catches that I've ever seen in person or on TV....Never thought he even had a chance to catch that ball, but he snared it with one hand....1 Turnover the whole game between the two teams....No punt all night long by Mountain Heritage....Ran into a nice family from Whiteville at the Moose Cafe near the farmers market in Asheville, and they asked me about the Cougars team...Told them then that the QB Trey Robinson would be hard too stop, but had no idea that he was about to score 7 TDs and rush for nearly 300yds against that Wolfpack defense....Just an incredible effort by a gutsy QB who is a little faster than a lot of folk probably thought before he ripped off that 52yd first quarter TD run where he out ran the Wolfpack secondary....Kid just knows how to read his blockers in front of him, and never stops churning his feet....The other Robinson kid in the backfield has also improved quite a bit since I seen him earlier in the season, and follows his blocks quite well now too..The Mountain Heritage Offensive line is just tremendous, and works really well together as a team..Should be another epic showdown this coming week against Hendersonville in Burnsville, and have already made plans to attend that one...

Congratualtions to Whiteville on a great season and great effort the other night in the 2nd round...You have nothing to hang your heads about because you left it all on the field, and played a great game...Most of the time 44 points is more than enough to win, but Mountain Heritage played a perfect game on offense, so you just got to tip your hat, and wish them good luck moving forward....Great Sportsmanship throughout the game, and thought that Coach Little and his staff did a great coaching job, and did everything that they could to slow down the Cougars and Robinson, but nothing seemed to work...That pass by Robinson on 4th down was also a key moment in the football game because the Wolfpack offense was also clicking on all cylinders on friday night....Just a great game to watch for this High School Football fan....

Good luck to the Cougars moving forward...This fan from Rosman will be rooting for you guys to bring home your first state title in football this year, and will be making his third trip to Burnsville this coming friday to watch the Cougars and Bearcats tangle for the 2nd time this year in what should be another great playoff matchup...
