What a game from a fans' perspective....Lots of offense on both sides....Was very impressed with Whiteville, and the Sophomore QB Moss who will only get better from here on out...The WR #10 has the ability to play at the next level....What an incredible one-handed grab right before the half, right before the TD with .02 seconds left on the clock....One of the best catches that I've ever seen in person or on TV....Never thought he even had a chance to catch that ball, but he snared it with one hand....1 Turnover the whole game between the two teams....No punt all night long by Mountain Heritage....Ran into a nice family from Whiteville at the Moose Cafe near the farmers market in Asheville, and they asked me about the Cougars team...Told them then that the QB Trey Robinson would be hard too stop, but had no idea that he was about to score 7 TDs and rush for nearly 300yds against that Wolfpack defense....Just an incredible effort by a gutsy QB who is a little faster than a lot of folk probably thought before he ripped off that 52yd first quarter TD run where he out ran the Wolfpack secondary....Kid just knows how to read his blockers in front of him, and never stops churning his feet....The other Robinson kid in the backfield has also improved quite a bit since I seen him earlier in the season, and follows his blocks quite well now too..The Mountain Heritage Offensive line is just tremendous, and works really well together as a team..Should be another epic showdown this coming week against Hendersonville in Burnsville, and have already made plans to attend that one...
Congratualtions to Whiteville on a great season and great effort the other night in the 2nd round...You have nothing to hang your heads about because you left it all on the field, and played a great game...Most of the time 44 points is more than enough to win, but Mountain Heritage played a perfect game on offense, so you just got to tip your hat, and wish them good luck moving forward....Great Sportsmanship throughout the game, and thought that Coach Little and his staff did a great coaching job, and did everything that they could to slow down the Cougars and Robinson, but nothing seemed to work...That pass by Robinson on 4th down was also a key moment in the football game because the Wolfpack offense was also clicking on all cylinders on friday night....Just a great game to watch for this High School Football fan....
Good luck to the Cougars moving forward...This fan from Rosman will be rooting for you guys to bring home your first state title in football this year, and will be making his third trip to Burnsville this coming friday to watch the Cougars and Bearcats tangle for the 2nd time this year in what should be another great playoff matchup...
