Funny it's always the steak house there are about 8 or restaurants down town that serve dinner like the City Drive-in a revamped old drive-in..I had a real good fresh Black Angus burger and wings the other day at Bierdock Brewery of course like I meationed couple weeks ago if you like Mexican you're in luck there's 5.

Been there ,done that. One of the toughest things I ever had to do..Takes lots of time..cherish the memories, you will always have em.

I guess I've seen times the line was so long it would take probably 45 minutes just to get in. Plus I figure if someone has enough time to go eat in a restaurant they're getting here pretty early anyway. I've never had that kinda time on an away game and just go threw drive-thru and eat on the way or even eating something at the stadiums concession stand.

It's very difficult time for a parent!
I suggest fishing, gives me time to think about blocking the Knights and I am retired!

Alright we have talked enough football for now, who has killed a good deer so far? I'm still hunting saving a tag, my cousin killed a hoss in Hayesville

I played with him we graduated together had to go against him every day at practice I'm 5'9" not much of match lol But never went to his head always one of the nices guys you'll ever know.
Our coach who played for NC State new how to promote him so we knew he was getting offers, even meet Danny Ford when he came to see him. But if I remember right some schools wanted him for a lineman while Clemson wanted him for a linebacker but got there and became a lineman.
His little brother went to Clemson too and another guy our age James Phillips went to Wake Forest as I believe a tight end plus we had several guys on that team that went to small colleges like Mars Hill.
Have you all always had good teams there? I am new here and trying to catch up and get a little confused sometimes? Your school must have a good winning tradition just like the SMC teams. The SMC teams always call you a stepbrother or say you should be in their conference.

Dotted with good teams here and there, only became a consistent contender over the last decade or so.

I took an 80 year old friend of mine hunting on my farm Purple and he shot an 8 point the best buck of his hunting career! Shot it at 300 yards which was his farthest shot ever and his best buck ever. That made my season. I think I am just gonna cut brush and weed eat and take advantage of the dry weather to get more work done. Good luck to all of you still hunting and congratulations to your cousin!

Purple I think it’s a dad thing maybe? My son wanted to play when he was in 2nd grade and I got roped into coaching his team. I do better with older kids. He never played again until this past fall in 8th grade. Said he wished he had played all along. I just stepped back and let him do it himself. I hope he enjoys it and has fun? In the end we all want to be winners, but it’s all about having fun and making memories and learning to work with other people. Win or lose if those boys can say they accomplished all of that, they are winners!!

The year I'm referring to in the quote my senior year fall season 1982 we graduated 83 was the first season Mitchell had a winning season 6-4 the first ever being 1975. We were 3A then called 3A little Mac.
So back then you had teams like North Buncombe , Owen , Hendersonville ,West Henderson etc who were all real good then.
It was also the first season we played in the Mitchell high stadium up to then we played at the old Harris high school field it was bigger then Bowman's. I believe 1986 was the first team to go to the playoffs by then Mitchell was 2A.

Every one knows Mitchell is a big favorite in this one but let's pretend Robbinsville has a chance.
Here are some Defense stats.
Mitchell
50 tackle for loss
3 sacks
18 ints
3 caused fumbles

Robbinsville
62 tackles for loss
21 sacks
18 ints
3 caused fumbles
Interesting the ints are the same but big difference in sacks. Could the reason be in scheduling? Robbinsville played a few pass heavy teams and I think Mitchell played mainly running teams.
