Western Final: Burns vs Reidsville

Actually, in 2002 Reidsville won 2AA championship. Burlington Cummings won 2A championship. Both teams were in the North State Conference. Reidsville beat them to win the conference championship that year. That's the only answer I have.
Quick question looking for a quick response.
How many NCHSAA Championships did Shelby win during the split classification, and how many STATE championships does Shelby claim from the WNCHSAA ?

Still not a unified title.

The winner of the NCHSAA championship never played the winner of the WNCHSAA championship so either both count during that time period or neither do.

I did the research several years a go ... seems there were about as many WNCHSAA teams in 1969 and 1970 when Reidsville won the state championships when the NCHSAA didn't let the Western winner meet the Eastern winner (divisional number of teams).
Whoever wins the final game that the association (whether it's the NCHSAA or the Western Association) allows is the champ IMO. You can't take anything away from those schools just because the powers didn't let them play another game.

Whoever it is, as long as they keep getting all of the athletes from McMichael and Morehead, they'll be fine.
I don’t see us getting any athletes from either. They not even close to us.
Schools like Reidsville lose more atheletes to other sports like baseball than they gain from
Football and no one says anything ....also micmicheal has no atheletes

The Rams beat the crap out of bandys 2 years in a row in the early 00's in the state championship game.

Would that also apply to a split classification?

Well that solves the problem, it should also apply to 2a,2aa. I call it the Cleveland County Paradox.

Would need to phone a friend on this one... 2nd to none I am sure knows. I'll find out. The better question is how much success have the members schools of the WNCHSAA found since joining the NCHSAA. The answer is a lot. That alone pretty much sums up that it was harder to win a WNCHSAA title than a NCHSAA title while the two associations existed.

Interesting point...during one of Reidsville's title years they lost to a member of the WNCHSAA during the regular season...may have been Albemarle. The team they lost to didn't even make the playoffs in the WNCHSAA that year.

Back to Burns and Reidsville. Toss up for me. I think Burns may eek it out. I'll be watching. Prayers for an injury free game.

wasn't Albemarle...Reidsville has never played them...any idea of year you are referring to?? In 1963 Reidsville shared Western 3A title with Brevard and during the regular season lost 19-13 to Thomasville....I know they were in the WNCHSAA but I have hard time believing they wouldn't have made a playoff spot...........

Stay on topic, you're way out of topic range right now. This is warming #2

Thanks! I appreciate it. Although I’m an old Reidsville guy from 1969, I enjoy listening to other view points. Just fun to watch and listen!
The Burns guys do a good job and while certainly Burns fans remain objective.

I got in here at 5 pm and the stands were almost full then. Fans are standing all the way around the field on both ends. Looks to be 4-5 people deep. It's electric here now with less than 12 minutes to go. I'll be glad to stand up for the national anthem and round my ass back out. Feels like a pancake.

Is the feed choppy for anyone else on ktc? It's usually really good. I bet they've got a lot of people streaming and isn't prepared for it.
