I am biased being from CC but Crest got away from what was working in the second half or they could very well be playing WC this Friday. I doubt WC cares too much about the film on NL as far as how they played the triple option so I would imagine they would watch the Crest film. Crest had it figured out in the first half. The second half they got a little too pass happy on the deep ball and that is ultimately what killed them. Others may not see it that way but that's what I saw. WC may win this game by a few scores but they will not shut out Hickory. I expect a high scoring game and an entertaining one.
So if it's boy and girl behavior it basically covers the entire gender spectrum.
For Example:
Person A - " I like Cheetos"
Person B - "Man what a loser, only boys and girls eat Cheetos"

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying Crest would have won because the dynamics change in a close game. I am just saying I think that game would have been extremely close had Crest continued to run the offense the same and avoided the home run. Hickory is a solid team and have had one hell of a run but this Friday they will have to play perfect and have some help along the way. They are here for a reason so anything can happen.
I have mentioned previously that WC had around 1600 actual students at that alignment but the ones that saying they didn't just don't understand the formula used got them to the numbers they believe. Also, I already knew the first number reported out were incorrect for WC this year, the numbers I had came directly from the number of actual students from the person over attendance for the school. There was know adding numbers for future growth, that's simply not how reporting works. Sometimes there's no convincing when people go off what they heard verses actual facts.
End note, WC, bring the championship back to the 704, it's going to be a tall task and believe you will be surprised at the overall team speed of HKY and can't say enough about the QB.

We've beat them 3 out of the 4 times we've played them. Twice in the Western Championship.

we beat West Charlotte last year too.. Same ADM's . They were very good, they're better this year, they're moving up after this year, so win or die trying. It's really that simple.

How about this: Your coaches coach your kids up to play whoever is in front of them and help them to learn how to meet any obstacle in their way with hard work and strong character, and the adults in the position to make the world as fair of a place as they can go do that.
In the meantime, we're mostly just goons with keyboards on a message board so we can whine or cry or try to suggest a utopian world and it probably changes very little (except those of you around here who actually do have a say in things, you're more like goons with a title and I hope you do great things).

West has one task,I have watched your last 2 games online....the other teams shot themselves in the foot by missing easy passes and not running straight at you...Hickory will eat your defense up if you let them....Dont look at the last game against NL....Hickory was comfortably ahead with 4 minutes left and started adding 2nd string in and it almost cost them...Crest had Hickory figured out and then they fell apart....These are 16,17,and 18 year old young men..you have to jump on Hickory early and alot because if it is close at half,they will figure you out...
If you have WC figured out already by watching the last two games then HKY should as well. There shouldn't be any adjustments they'll need to make.
Didn't say I figured WC out...just saying that just like Crest and NL,,,the 2 teams that WC played shot themselves in the foot also...I still believe West will pull it out but a lot closer than people think...Some of the West fans are making the team sound indestructible...they have 2 close losses...might have 3 🫡
Nope, they're not immune to losing. This year is one for us to grow on. With a roster full of sophomores and juniors we're just happy to get back to respectability.
However, I will add that the last two games we played in we're on grass, the speed will show up even greater on that turf tomorrow night being that we practice and play on turf. It'll be an exciting game.
This is going to be an interesting game. I believe that you have the two 3A teams that consistently played high level ball all season. Despite all the talent that is on the field for WC and Hickory, both teams are in the western finals because of their quarterbacks. I knew Stober was a dude last season but the play of the WC quarterback has been impressive. This should be a heck of a game for awhile but ultimately I believe the Lions overall size, speed, and physicality on both sides of the ball will wear on the Red Tornadoes. Coach Glass will have a good game plan and Stober will keep them in it, WC will be too much for Hickory in the end. I think Dub-C pulls it out by 10-14pts.
If WC gets 2 stops a half and runs it right down their throat.

Low 40's doesn't compare to those 20's we endured in Asheville and Greensboro the last two weeks. The WC fan base wears ski suits.
If you watched that game... you know it wasn't close. Total control by Hickory. The rest of Western NC isn't like so many of these Charlotte schools WC beat up on where those schools just rolled over to die after a quarter.
It's all about reading comprehension. They haven't been stopped in two years. So...if WC can hold them to 14 or less points - color me impressed.
I'm anxious to see if WC has the ability to defend X and O wise some of what Hickory will bring to the field.

I agree that WC is a completely different team than their past couple years.
I also would argue they're a completely different teamthan 97% of all the 3A teams in NC because they're a (current year) 4A playing against 3As. Slow clap for them.
So- even if they win this game, and win the 3a championship I am not real impressed. Unless we take a few top 3a teams and let them go down and bid for the 2a title for the next four years.

Hickory plays in one of the toughest 3a leagues in the state (definitely top 2 at the minimum) and Dudley plays in arguably one of the weakest. Also ..... head to head Hickory's "junior" team last year beat them.
Stober is better than any Dudley qb in the last 5 years in every way imaginable.
