This is trueBut in all fairness, I read in one of the area papers that he lost virtually all of last year’s team to graduation.

Principal retired and the two assistants' left the system. The winning boys programs football, mens basketball and wrestling were senior heavy and lost really good coaches/staffs for a variety of reasons (Admin change, retirements, AD Retired, HR, new board, teacher shortages, discipline, other opportunity, lack of HR/board taking action to replace those coaches in a timely manner, etc). They knew well in advance of these openings and sat on them with zero process in place or actioning. As the old saying goes, "a failure to plan is planning to fail".Very good question. Unless it’s chalked up to mass hysteria, I’d say there’s a common thread.
Trey Ray is a good hire. But in all fairness, I read in one of the area papers that he lost virtually all of last year’s team to graduation. Wish him well.
I don’t think all principals are gone, but the high school principal retired.
Thank you Wow. You certainly have insight into all of that.Principal retired and the two assistants' left the system. That partly explains the lack of offense against WD, and last game. Didnt know the QB got hurt.I would hope so, but they lost a lot of seniors last year, not to mention the loss of the qb who just tore his acl.
Indeed it is, but looking at the roster that returns and having travelled to see yall at tville play a few times, just because I think it’s intriguing, you still have some monsters and talent, though the loss of the qb is tough. It seems like it will come down to scheme and player development which is probably why Ferguson seemed to shine. Your teams always seemed to peak at the right time under her and have remarkable grit at the end of the year. That south stokes game was a masterclass in resilience and coaching despite the loss. This is true
Lost which coachUnderstand we may have lost an assistant coach too. A Google search of the new assistant principal at the middle school is revealing. The hits just keep coming.
That south stokes game last year was incredible. The Bishop vs Thomasville game two years ago was also an amazing game.Indeed it is, but looking at the roster that returns and having travelled to see yall at tville play a few times, just because I think it’s intriguing, you still have some monsters and talent, though the loss of the qb is tough. I also wonder how things go going from a private school with a lot of talent…a lot…to the public school.
It’ll be interesting to see Ferguson’s teams at Ledford too. I saw last night that, with the exception of her post, her team is pretty young…we at north enjoy beating them but I’m not sure they continues for long.
Does tville play Ledford this year? What an atmosphere that would be!
The stokes game I saw, I only caught the ending of the bishop game and what I saw was incredible. If that point guard makes an open layup or at least bleeds the clock for a few seconds, they go past eastern Randolph in the final four. In my opinion. Those were the two games, and one a couple of years ago when I caught tville playing Salisbury or north Rowan and the first play was a dunk, where I thought: this woman can flat coach. I’ve never seen teams, like Tvilles last year go from not great to absolutely beating anyone any night of the season. That south stokes game last year was incredible. I know exactly what you’re talking about. They very well could have won the game if they had made the layup or just wasted the clock. No way Bishop should be playing against public schools. They obviously recruited their players. The stokes game I saw, I only caught the ending of the bishop game and what I saw was incredible. Wish she had stayed at tville and not come to our conference, but it’ll be entertaining watching these “good ole boys” get rattled by her. I do find plenty of pleasure in watching entrenchment of any sort get uncomfortable.
It makes sense she could coach though, I suppose, looking her resume up.
Knowing by whom and how Ledford was coached last year, it genuinely couldn’t be any different of a style or approach. They had an extremely slow, pass it 15 times, only certain kids had permission to shoot style of ball with nearly zero defensive intensity. Sheesh the difference a year will make I presume.
Plus we all know they have talent, our kids have played travelled ball with those kids. It’s just not born itself out that way…yet.
Why?Understand we may have lost an assistant coach too. A Google search of the new assistant principal at the middle school is revealing. The hits just keep coming.
Probably. 1A typically has some teams with very poor records that make the playoffs. Very unlikely to have a home game.Any chance we still make the playoffs if we win the last two games?
Not going to name folks on here. Anyone interested can do their own research. But if you know which coaches had an altercation on the sidelines at West Davidson, that’s a start.Lost which coach
Yeah that's what I was thinking. Recall some winless and 3 win teams make it in as a 24 seed over the years.Probably. 1A typically has some teams with very poor records that make the playoffs. Very unlikely to have a home game.
I still predict that we won’t beat Lexington. But should beat East. Neither team has coaching but as usual, Thomasville has better athletes.
Lexington is very athletic and has 17 seniors and the coach is turning them around. Lexington and Tville have discipline issues showboating, holding, trash talking, late hits and cheap shots so who knows how that game will go. Probably the team with the most penalties or turnovers.Probably. 1A typically has some teams with very poor records that make the playoffs. Very unlikely to have a home game.

Coaching is about more than tactics, X’s and O’s. It’s about managing kids and everything they bring to the table from home and all other aspects of their lives. The coaching staff there is unfamiliar with and not skilled at hardly any of the sides of coaching; so it stands to reason they’d have discipline issues.Wouldn't be surprised if we pulled the upset but likely lose.
Noticed an increase in discipline issues since last year and carried over this year. That's concerning.
It might. Some of them play basketball and other sports. It's young group still learning how to win. We lost alot of seniors last year and many good players on offense after the 22' season. The loss of kids like Carolina, Lucky, number 9, and 5 in the backfield is hurting us right now.Coaching is about more than tactics, X’s and O’s. Also, I went to a game recently and I agree. It’s not just behavioral either. It’s discipline in the game itself from a football aspect. Totally different team than last year
My question is will this lack of discipline be seen in the other sports throughout the year? Considering their criteria for a good candidate seems to have had nothing to do with a history of success on and off the field but rather other factors, is this a hug shock?
