Why is he still talking about speed? That’s all you hear from this guy. Speed speed speed. I will say this, Cherokee qb looked like the fastest player we saw this year. Maybe it was just me but he looked like he was scooting. He couldn’t hardly do anything against our defense Friday night. Matter of fact if someone from Robbinsville has the stats, how many yards total did Cherokee have in the 1st half. Couldn’t have been much. Speed means nothing unless you get the corner. If you can’t get the corner, you’d trade speed for power all day.
He will get out of the backfield. No way the Mitchell defense is better than Salisbury and the Dogs scored four times on them. Keep dreaming and once you see #12 take off and those Mitchell LB's will see nothing but the bottom of his shoes the truth will set you free. Also, THS plays on regular old grass like they have for years. If you have turf up there that will make it even worse for you.
Swains TB got the corner on you guys several times Friday and he is nothing compared to what is rolling off that bus. You must be watching film of another Mitchell team than I am.

Looks at the box score for the Thomasville and Salisbury game the final was 49-21 more telling it 49-8 starting the 4th quarter so that was no.t a close game.

Never said it was close. Salisbury allowed 33 all year (21 to the Dogs) and two others were called back. If you have not seen Salisbury play then you do not understand the size, speed, and experience they have. Most physical team I have seen in the last 15 years that can literally overwhelm other teams with power, speed and impose their will. Looking forward to seeing the show this week and who wins. Both teams are very good so we will see who barring a major upset visits Mt. Airy week 4.
Before I get to my thoughts on Thomasville, wonder why Swain didn’t try to go wide with the sweep more than they did? They were picking up good yardage doing that and just went away from it.
Ok, early Thomasville thoughts. From the time the brackets rolled out I saw this as a very bad match up for Mitchell. Thomasville will bring more speed to Ledger than they have seen in a while. This should be the best team Mitchell has played but it should be this deep in the playoffs. The Mitchell line will have to play exceptionally well to maintain some clock eating drives. If the skill position players from Tville gets an inch, watch out. I would think Mitchell will try and use the game plan they used against E Surry a couple years ago. While nothing against this current Tville offense it is very very talented and fast it isn’t the E Surry offense from then.
Lots of talk about the past (see last sentence above), tradition is great, recent success is great but come Friday night neither of those will play into what takes place. Both teams play on natural grass so the field should not matter. Even though it will be slick, it is always slick this time of year. I have seen teams come to Ledger that were bigger, faster and more explosive than the team Mitchell was fielding at the time and walk away with a loss. I have seen teams that were bigger, faster, and more explosive come to Ledger and walk away winners. I do not want to take anything away from this current Mitchell team, I just don’t think they have the individual talent and depth some of the past teams have had. BUT they seem to all really like each other and play very hard for each other which can make up for some of the difference. I think this Mitchell team has played a better non conference schedule than most past years so maybe that can help. So will Mitchell be able to slow down Tville all night, doubtful. Can they slow them down enough to walk away with the win, hopefully. Regardless of what happens both teams have had a very successful season. Neither is ready for it to end but for one it will. I just hope for a clean game with no injuries or no stupid unsportsmanlike conduct from the teams or the Fans (Not expecting it, just making a statement). We have seen enough of that in the past couple weeks across the state.
Early prediction, well I don’t like what I am thinking so I will leave it as Good Luck Mountaineers.
For those that are traveling up, Be safe. Another food suggestion, about 3-4 miles past the high school is a small joint called Mountain Holler. Not a huge menu but, one of the best ribeye steaks anywhere, great ribs and bacon wrapped shrimp. Not cheap but very good. Go early, the wait can get very very long. Opens at 4 pm. “Western Sizzlin“ is still a great choice though.

Shelby is the only team you listed that can be compared to Thomasville. The other three don’t have the hardware.
So I’m guessing East Davidson must be the second best team in the state after Salisbury as they somehow were able to come to your house and beat you.
If the best team always won, we wouldn’t need to play the games. Hopefully, after East, the Bulldogs won’t take any team lightly again.
Having said that, here’s what I believe.
I believe that Thomasville is one of the ten best 1A teams in the state. Not sure they’re top four.
I believe that, especially with trips much over an hour, the home team has a big advantage in high school football. The change in routine, the travel and the distractions for visitors is real. It can be overcome certainly, but presents a challenge.
I believe that coaching matters. It ain’t all the Jimmys and Joes.
I believe that there are always upsets in a one game tournament.
I believe a championship is as much about matchups as about talent and coaching. The state champ isn‘t always the best team in the state.
Lastly, I believe that I can’t always tell the difference between good, old fashioned smack talk versus comments from posters who are delusional about a game played by unpredictable high school kids.
Safe travels to the Bulldogs. Hopefully, this game will be clean, safe, and well played, coached and officiated. Good luck to both teams. Go Dogs!
Don’t know if I buy into the David or Goliath role for either. But it makes sense for the higher seeded home team to be favored.
lol...my feelings are hurt....never heard of Reidsville?? seriously Thomasville has a tradition of winning (even tho they had a couple of down years)....this matchup with Mitchell intrigues me....someone keep us posted on line since I'll be at the Reidsville/Hendersonville game....................

I don't know if it really affects the lower elevation players or not but I know it affects me and right now it showing 25° annd some wind in Bakerville Friday and the stadium a few hundred ft higher for some reason is always a little colder and windier so I'm bringing my little propane heater lol.
Watched film on Mt Airy today, honestly Thomasville and Mitchell look better all around, the winner fri night may take it all
