West Charlotte at Dudley

Picked both Charlotte schools to win on the road. Not sure folks realize how good Hough/WC are.

I picked Hough but I'm not surprised they lost. WC winning doesn't really surprise me either. They're not going to see anything they haven't already seen.

I will never pick Hough ever again. This was such a complete team and yet again they fold.

I’m not saying this will happen to Hickory first off so we’re clear. I will however give you two examples of offenses that were in the same class as Hickory. 2014 Havelock, 51 points a game ran into Crest with a dominant defense in the state championship/ held to 3 points. 2016 Hibriten, just over 50 points a game ran into a Dominant SP defense in the western final and was shut out. I don’t believe this would happen to Hickory but nobody seen it coming back then either. Just a reminder that it’s played on the field.

lol…..those havelock and hibriten teams (those years)aren’t anywhere close to the X and Os and potential big plays that hickory possesses. Not my opinion…they showed that last year too. WC can match up and give problems without a question. I think the key is for hickory to lose a key guy on offense …that could stop them quicker than anything. I see hickory scoring 24-30 in all situations. Haven’t seen WC offense but it had better be 200% better than it has been the last couple years

It's not the same team or offensive coordinator. Why wouldn't it have improved. Each season is supposed to be improve and evolve.

If you think Dudley wasn’t good you’re a special kind of ignorant. WC was just better. The schedule was weak and I do think Grimsley would beat them badly. Grimsley would also beat Hickory badly. Dudley is 3A and they are a force in that classification. Don’t fool yourself they’d have a great chance to beat Hickory. I’ll take WC to beat Hickory. Both WC and Dudley’s defenses would have been a major challenge for Hickory I believe. You’ll believe too in about a week.

Yeah plus I'm sure Grimsley has kids that normally play at Dudley, Page, and some other Guilford County schools. The fact Dudley is still consistently a contender year in and out is good on their part.
