Two old arch rivals meet up in the opening game of the 2015 season. At this point I might give Thomasville the edge but I also think it will be a tough hard nosed football game. I am so glad we have renewed this series and hope we stay on each others schedule for years to come. I would also like to meet as many posters on ncpreps as possible before my demise. I am not in good health and just loss my wife but am trying to go on with my life and football is helping me adjust.
OK ITJ I expect you to come up to the front of the press box and meet myself and the rest of the NCC. We are really harmless. LOL.

I am sticking with my pick of AHS 21 tville 17. Also I will make sure to come up and meet you as well Buddy. Would be nice to meet you all!!

Come to think of it the qb for Latin reminded me a lot of Will Greer from DD couple of years back. His receivers ran precise routes and he put the ball on the money. He could also tuck it in and run with the ball. Think he will be highly recuirted.
I also think Albemarle will be ok against most teams. The defense didn't play that bad and in time the offense will come together and be a force to recon with. In other words I was satisified with what I saw yesterday.
I also believe the YVC is stronger this year especially in the middle of the pack. It could be a war to see who comes in 2nd 3rd and 4th. Gonna be a fun year.

Albemarle is going to crush Thomasville. We held back.

What amazes me, is how many opposing teams were there to see Albemarle. That's what you call "Respect". They know....!

Albemarle 24 T-Ville 14.

Yea I agree sway. Talking to one of the coaches before the scrimmage and said we would not show all we had. He knew there would be people, coaches etc from schools on our schedule there. And he was right as I saw several. I also agree I think the qb sells the play well. All the work we put in at practice on fundementals is going to pay off. Much better tackling for one thing. Lots of talent on this Albemarle team as long as we can avoid the injury bug. But we all know its coming. Just look at Murphy last year. After all they are part of the game.

I wonder if Albemarle can pull a 2010 Mitchell... They weren't deep at all; like us this year, but played a solid physical game.

Talking to coach Smith the other day he said to be successful we have to play a physical game. I agree with him.

I think AHS held back a lot. I say AHS 42-14.

I agree. I was happy with the tackling as well as the run defense. I believe offensively we will be fine. They were also more disciplined.

Anybody else impressed with #22? I thought he was a great change of pace back that runs hard and physical.

After watching the scrimmage we still have a long way to go. I thought the defense played pretty well considering who they were playing against. I don't think we will face another quarterback who can throw as well as Latin's did. Once we get into conference play we can compete against anyone but West Montgomery. Right now everyone but West is playing for second place. I will have to give Thomasville the edge in our first game but you never know. That's why they play the games.

Albemarle by two touchdowns. Thomasville looked horrible last year in their scrimmage. They were very small. Unless a ton of players have been added to their program, Albemarle will have the advantage.

When we get the timing and everything clicking on our offense I think we will score a bunch of points. Don't let the Latin scrimmage fool you. We want face another team that good. Also think our defense will be solid in time. The only thing that can come back to haunt us is injuries. All the misdirection on this offense when it gels will give other teams and coaches nightmares. Mark my word.

PS. Nipit, think you might make the Thomasville game?

They sure did look bad LAST YEAR in there scrimmage, but that don't have nothing to do with this year, totally different team, looked nothing like last years team in their scrimmage this past Friday

I believe it will be a tight contest and hopefully a large crowd. Looking forward to relaxing and watching a great football game.

Nobody seems to want to get this "Trash Talking" thing started so I will

Might be tight, or it might get ugly real fast.

I haven't seen T-Ville in a while. Hard to believe that two prominent programs are suddenly non-factors. Albemarle and T-Ville used to give coaches nightmares. I hope T-Ville can get it going. But I look for Albemarle to drag them up and down the field Friday.....and I'm talking about a "Killing".

This is definitely not your typical Albemarle team, nor T-Ville. Albemarle always had RB's and the Oak Tree D. And T-Ville was just flooded with athletes on both sides of the ball. Not the case for Albemarle the past 4 years, and not the case for T-Ville since 2008...

Albemarle has the upper hand. HFA and a coach....

Nip will be at Scotland. I hope to see you guys in the NCC as soon as I can save up enough money to pay my dues. (BTW....how do I bring in a pint of Scotch to pay for my dues? Buddy said I had to pay up prior to kickoff, but I am nervous bringing dues in the stadium.) ;)

I don't see Albemarle dragging Thomasville up and down the field. I think Thomasville is improved from last year and I'm not sure yet if we are. We are still learning a new offense and it will take time. Speaking of time is the game @7:00 or 7:30?

No problem nipit. My car (Nissan Maxium) will be in the first handicap space at the front gate. Just slide a pint of "Chavis Regal Scotch" under the front seat and come on in . Then you will be a member in good standing. I trust you.

My prediction.....not that anyone cares. (Wait for it, Wait for it).....Thomasville wins. Red Dogs put 10 in the box and dare Blue Dogs to throw it. The more things change.......the more they stay the same. o_O:confused:

Does anyone know who will be handling the kicking duties?

A kid off the soccer team has been coming to practice and working on kickoffs and maybe? extra points. We might be going for 2 most of the time. Pretty good punter on the team. Can't remember his number.

Charlotte Latin put 8 in the box when we opened up the play book.....didn't look like it helped much.....

At practice tonight . Working hard to get ready for Tville. Opened up the playbook tonight but as Forrest Gump would say "that's all I got to say about that". I really, really like coach Smith and what he's trying to do with this team. He is the coolest dude I know. He just walks around at practice from one group to the other spends a few seconds and moves on. He has one pace and one pace only. Nothing seems to excite or fluster him. Although I secretly thinks he likes a lot of what he is seeing. Don't know what will happen fri night, but I think this group will be up to the challenge. At least I hope so.
Light em' up sway. I love your post!!!!!!!

Buddy plays look a little but different from what we saw Saturday?

Nation as I was leaving the scrimmage sat a guy came up to me and asked if I was Buddy Rich. I said yes and he said I've got somebody that wants to meet you . Guess who is was. The new head coach at Thomasville. Said he loved reading my post on preps, so then the light bulb went on. Maybe I have been telling to much about our practices. Hence the Forrest Gump statement. Till fri night MUM is the word.

Buddy you are famous!!! I am expecting a great game Fri. Week 2 is what I am watching I believe that will give us an idea on how we will compete with WM. As everything sits WM is the team to beat in the conference.

Something else I would say. No matter what happens this season weither we win a SC or go in the toilet I LOVE this group of kids. They have literaly worked there butts off since Aug 1. 3 hrs every day even on sat. they have been getting after it. Great coaching staff. Just think a few months ago we didn't know if the school would even be open or if we would have a team. Somehow the kids fought through this and emerged on the other side. I think we should all thank them for what they have had to go through. I for one will be there on fri. night to support them no matter the outcome of the game. People that is what we all need to do. "support these kids". That's what it's all about.

Do you really think WM would compete with Concord? What would be your WM/Concord prediction? They were beat by Starmount in the playoffs. Do you really think there has been a year in the last 50 years that Starmount could beat Concord?

Don't know till I see Concord play. I will tell you this. As good as WM is they would have had all they could handle with Charlotte Latin. We sure as hell did.

Very well said Buddy. I don't think some people understand how much that announcement in January affected these kids. I remember that day very well as we had a game, I remember the questions and looks I received. AHS may be in some peoples eyes a bad school but these kids are close and most have a want to succeed. These kids are fighters and this football team and the basketball teams this past season have and will display that very thing. You will see a huge chip on these kids shoulders and rightfully so. I am excited to see them play Friday night for a host of reasons and winning is not at the too of the list. These kids finally have an opportunity to unleash every bit of frustration, anger etc for this past year. They have a chance to put on the Albemarle jersey and helmet when so any said the school was closing and there was no hope of anything different. I hope that the community comes out in blue and in masses to support these kids. Let's fill the stands!!!!! Let's show everybody what bulldog pride is all about, let's show these kids that the bulldog community is behind them 100%!!!
