Somehow the well meaning wannabe coaches on here seem to imagine that our coaches sit around and wring their hands and worry about what to do! Some of the suggestions are actually very good. Specifically, the ones that are pondered by the experts; our defensive coaches who know exactly what to do. It hurts me to hear grown ups stand up there in the stadiums and critique 15, 16, & 17 year olds and call out at full song to get them off the field and then blame Mickey who happens to be one who was instrumental in giving you a tradition. Great post, sprawl! It gets embarrassing sometimes in the stands. To put a positive spin on it, a passionate fan is a good thing. Just remember, everyone out there is doing the best they can.
Not saying it's right....but do yall not remember the 70s and 80s? Dang man...it's a much kinder, gentler atmosphere these days in those stands. I don't feel sorry for any of the coaches or players. There is zero pressure there now vs. what it used to be. Miss a couple tackles or get burnt one time in ONE game and you would never see the field again. Now I see LBs miss 8-9 tackles a game and DBs get burnt twice in one game for a TD and their name is in the paper for having 7 tackles or an INT. I think they've got it pretty good over at SP these days.
The season is not over. We will get it together and make a run.WE ARE THE RED RAIDERS!!! But some of our fans need to ge behind the RED RAiDERS!!!
Coondog, nobody is saying the season is over. We practice like no other and get stronger each day. DB31 is right! When you have lofty goals, you seize it or die trying. We understood that in the day.
Any Raider fan that made the Hunter Huss game and stayed with it from start to finish is a true Raider fan and I did. There are right and wrong ways to voice critical opinions and as a diehard Raider fan I have earned the right to call it as I see it.
We have another great group of kids on this team but they don't appear as savvy as Raider teams of the past. There is an attitude we customarily see from Raider teams that doesn't appear on this team. I agree with Seadog in regards to having the best coaching staff in the state but I struggle with the hard headedness. We can't always be passive. Its just a matter of tweaking things a little and getting outside our comfort zones without abandoning what we do best.
I won't give up on them regardless of how they finish but to me they are a long way from where they need to be if they plan to finish where they typically finish ....... as the elite.

I agree with you Coondog. Its time to put the Red Raider gear in the dumpster and go get your Purple Storm gear. The future is now. Cramer is on the rise and South Point will soon be a footnote in the NCHSAA record book.
Crestfan, I will die a Red Raider never will change over to Cramer. SP will not close down. They are building homes down at the end of Sp road and other places in Sp area. Once a Raider always a Raider.

Raider fans are passionate. That is good enough for me. Seadog, Magic, Coon, 73, we all have the same passion and that is for Raider football. Some nights I leave frustrated and some nights, I leave elated but , always, I leave, as a Raider.

So, if a Crest fan started a thread for Crest fans only, then you think that South Point fans would stay away??? It would be nothing but Redbone, and Mickey, and doing more with less. Starting a SP fans thread is the same as a Crest fans thread. It always ends up in the same place.

Since seadog has been wearing those colors since August, we may have to revoke his Raider privileges for the rest of the season.

Somebody miscounted. They were trying to pull enough kids from Burns to win,but stay in small 3A. However, they pulled a few kids who did not pan out for football, but broughy attendance up to 3AA. Understand that they are throwing a few 3rd stringers off of the team and out of school to meet guidelines. Go BullChargers.
