One of Mt Airy’s own is the head Referee in the Shrine Bowl. Big time honor in the officiating circles. The officiating crew is made up of officials from both states.

You were correct, The Mount Airy News has Mickey Holleman to officiate in the Shrine Bowl on Saturday. I could only read the headlines but not the whole story. It said it was the ultimate honor in a high school official's career. His dad Coach Holliman would be so proud of his son if he were still living. A lot of greatness comes out of Surry County and we all should be proud residents !
Ok, I just checked and the whole story is on The Mount Airy News Facebook. I had not thought to check their Facebook page for the news after they started charging for the online version of the paper started charging to view a month or so ago.
