SHELBY HIGH GOLDEN LIONS VS SALISBURY HORNETS 2AA CHAMPIONSHIP

We can’t be stopped. I’m still perplexed over what happened at Kings Mountain, but this is an all time great Shelby team, they have made me a believer, great high powered offense, hellacious defense.
Looking ahead. How do you think next years team looks?

I wasn’t at the ND / Salisbury game, but from what I understand, ‘
They use Google Earth to draw the lines. Somehow they don't know you have to rotate north straight up!!

Am I missing something? I’ve seen the longitudinal coordinates for all of the teams in the NCHSAA. It’s very searchable, even if you haven’t taken a look.

Are there any other teams in the 2AA West that were further east than salisbury? If so, I’m very curious to know who they were.

This stuff just works out this way. Same with the Columbus County schools who end up playing in the West many years.

Hellacious! Jack Hollifield is a national recruit, Malaki Hamrick is becoming becoming one, and he will be just a junior. Santana Flack is sure to become a prospect. Those Arrington brothers have about 10 ints between them. The defense will be stellar.

Offensively, Omar Phillips will be hell at runningback, I expect he and Adams to be quite a duo, both have size and speed. Huskey will lead a young but talented group of receivers. Shayle Gash will lead the O line, he’s a great offensive lineman.

However!!!!! My biggest concern is at quarterback. Lee will be only a sophomore. I was told by someone’s who has coached him that his arm is nothing like his brother's, and he’s not much of threat running. I hear he’s extremely intelligent at the position, though, and has an extremely high football IQ. His projected backup, Lamont Littlejohn, transferred to KM, and that only leaves Hollifield, the middle school quarterback this past season. I hear he’s the future. Obviously, he will be only a freshman.

Another Prospect at QB is. Deshawn. Jones offJv team.he now 14 on variety

Shelby gets another cakewalk game. When will the NCHSAA stop them from inflating their adms to avoid the brutal 2A west?
Who are you calling brutal in the 2a West? If you mean Reidsville just remember the last time Shelby drove up Highway 29. If you don’t remember it was a slobber knocking by a very superior Shelby squad.

Will be a closer game than the ND-Shelby game last year.

Salisbury has REAL athletes to play with Shelby. Not saying they're going to win but I expect a competitive game
I know what Shelby has coming back from last years team and we played Salisbury this year. I don’t honk it witkl

After watching Lee this JV season I believe he is way ahead of his brother as a 9th grader. He throws a pretty pass and is very accurate. He will be a good one.

Didn't know that Littlejohn transferred. His dad is from KM and I guess he will start next year.

I didn’t learn it until a recent trip to the barbershop, questionable move. Ethan Reid returns for his senior year at KM. I assume the thinking on their part is Littlejohn will start when Reid Graduates. Thing is though, I hear that KM’s JV quarterback was good.

Actually it was 17-7, and being in 2014 Im not sure what that has to do with 2019.

Name them!

Brevard, Mt Heritage, and, of course, your Reidsville Rams.

Brevard has the D to compete, obviously, but there O would be the big question.

Mt Heritage falls in the same boat. Not as explosive on offense as years past, but still will grind you out with that counter. Their D is legit, and if not for an injury and a few fumbles, Rams would have been in Burnsville last week.

No need to talk about the Rams, as most of you guys follow the Rams facebook and instagram and are up to date.

Good luck, Saturday.

Either way 704 is gauranteed a 2AA title.

I expect both 3As and hopefully the 4AA. Too bad Shelby didn't go small, then 2A-3AA would be wrapped up.
Yep Burns missed a State title by 10 students but thats just the way it goes sometimes brother.

Honestly. I seen Salisbury against OG and Ledford. I'll leave it at this refs in Davidson county ref alil different when Salisbury is in town.

Salisbury overall was by far the best team in the CCC. My opinion. Just know those guys in strips can play a big role in certain games
Calls went both ways in our game.

Any relation to the other Hollifields?

I bleed blue lol. But there’s no way in the world Brevard or Heritage are within two td’s of Burns and forget about Shelby .

Lord I’m sure glad our boys don’t read this stuff. They may not even come play Saturday. Maybe I should just let them know they have no chance and should have just packed it in and headed on to basketball practice.
