Well great 2018 yr, after 3 losses. Come back strong to win Championship.
Looking at roster and talking to coach Ware next year looks bitter sweet to return.
We are pretty much loaded got to replace 2 guards on Oline and really db and saftey plus LB.
Got great talent comming off 11-0 jv team.
And who knows with any transfers over summer.
Going be another great year in Lion country...

Havent seen 19 yet.. Im going say same as last years but Burns in conf.as 2aa

If same. Freedom- AC - Burns- Crest- KM - MT Pleasent- Rs Central -East Gaston- Chase- East Rutherford- SouthPoint...not sure order yet

And if they had played the past 3 seasons, that would be 4-3.
You guys love Calpreps. You should have seen who they had winning those matchups, I did. I’m sure two of your prominent veteran posters know, as much as they love that site. Your Rams would be down 6-1 based on that site, be grateful that y’all didn’t play us those years.

Reidsville is 1-3 against Shelby, why are people pushing a Shelby/ Reidsville matchup, it more than likely wouldn't work for them ...... lol

Its better than playing mt pleasant. Shelby and Reidsville will be 1 and 2 in the polls next year that's a game to make.

My only aversion to this game during regular season is that it is a very long ride both both teams. Heck I have an aversion to this match up due to the distance even in the playoffs. That was some long rides up there.

Computers and jazz like that had us losing in Raleigh too. See how that worked out.

A one year deal for reidsville to come to Shelby would be fair. I think reidsville has an open date but no one really knows. It’s a outside chance Shelby goes to small 2a west but doubtful.

Your favorite words. "If and". If we hadn't beat you 49 to 3, in 2013 and it wasn't so cold would you have stayed after halftime? But hey, at least you scored. It is a long way to Ifandsville, but the drive home ain't so bad.

3-1 Shelby does have bragging rights. But teams have come back from s 3-1 deficit

Man, they were beyond happy to score, too. You should have been on this site then. It was bizarre, they had just gotten blasted off the field, but as a consolation prize, a few of their posters posted, “At least we scored and extended the steak.” And then, almost in unison, like a scene in the movie, 300, a few of them posted, “Long live the streak”. One of their veteran posters then posted that Reidsville hasn’t went scoreless since ‘98, an usual time to still be so prideful, I was thinking.

Shelby wasn’t the only team to blowout reidsville that year. Also got blown out 42-14 to Northwest Guilford

What some of you Reidsville cats try to do, like you’re doing here in a real subtle fashion, is try to play that “we were down/ we were not that good card”, but when the game was taking place, many of you were confident that you’d win, take a peep back into that thread, and yes, I’ve read where you said not too long ago, that you really didn’t like your chances then.

But, here’s the bottom line! You’ve met us 4 times, and you lost 3 of them, two of them on your home field Any program’s supporter can say, “Well, you should have played us this year or that year, we were strong”. That’s a weak excuse! We’re obviously not on each other’s schedule on a yearly basis, and the ADMs have us in different divisions, but again, when we were fortunate enough to play each other, we won. You guys won the game in 07, and not one Shelby poster, even the one biggest Ram adversary poster, tried to in some way to downplay that win. We simply lost to the better team that year.

We werent down but let’s not act like that reidsville team was really good. We beat an ok lincolnton team 13-10. The 2014 team you guys beat would have won states if not for Shelby, but that team couldn’t throw the ball. I wasn’t that confident in 2013. In 2014 I was confident that’s just me though

That 07 game is what set off 98 Chump to begin with. He was sad the 3peat was ruined, and has descredited any and everything Reidsville, and most recently any Reidsville opponent, has done at all times.

Point is, there ain’t always the right time in life, you don’t always have control of things happening when they happen. Heck, I wished we would have played y’all in 15 too, we were in the same division then, and we know how that year turned out. The stars aligned, and we played those years that we played, and we won.

And, don’t get it twisted, how y’all feel about your recent teams, these recent Shelby teams have been great, too. The 15 and 16 teams are two of the best in Shelby’s history, and the 17 team was very good, 18 also very good despite the tough start vs 3A competition, and getting young players acclimated into important roles. I would put all Shelby teams since ‘13 against any 2A team in the state, 5 out of 6 state championships won since, validates that feeling.

It could happen in ‘19, though. With schools moving down, that could potentially bump us down to 2A, and please belief the coaches read this stuff, I know the Shelby coaches do for a fact, you never know, that phone call could get made from one of the programs. Your coach reads this stuff, too. When y’all won in ‘16, he was quick to mention those who mocked your schedule. I read that in an article, after the Rams won.

Anytime you beat reidsville you get my respect. The 3 times you guys beat us were all solid reidsville teams. If we played in 15 you guys blow us out by a lot I’m glad it didn’t happen

The ship rolls on the outcome of the Shelby vs South Point game. Any other opinion is suspect.

Whoa...pump the brakes there Frank.

First lets analyze the game. 28-20 Reidsville win. Your QB was injured and hobbled around the whole game. Y'all won a jump ball game. That is all Reidsville did in that game. Throw up prayers deep down field to your receivers and fortunately for y'all it worked.

The hostility from us is what you did immediately AFTER the game. Having just came off a win over US, y'all decided to secretly get your County representatives to pursue a title that was not yours, at least not yours until it was debated and voted on properly. Instead y'all, without any debate or input from any other program, had something put before the state legislation that was quickly voted through without any discussion. Total BS. Until you have that undone and a proper discussion/debate as well as input from any school who feels they are deserving of being in the discussion AND a proper statewide vote by people who actually care and not some legislators who have bigger things to worry about, you will ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS get lip from us. That was pathetic and you know it. You also know that a 30 year recent gap (1971-2001) from Championship play or even sniffing a championship game would remove you from the discussion. You can't be the capital of anything without being a yearly contender. Something Reidsville definitely was not in the 70s, 80, and 90s.

Princeton and Yale have more College football National Championships than anyone else....by a long shot, 28 and 27 respectively. Four schools, Notre Dame, Alabama, USC, and Michigan tie for 3rd with 11 titles.

You think Princeton or Yale could claim themselves the College football Capital of the US?

You just confirmed the 07 game set you off.

Btw...how long before you get banned and have to create yet another account?

Shelby 2019

Who knows....?

I'm sure we'll lose some players to grades, injuries, transfers, etc...and maybe pick up some players via transfer, first-time players, etc...

The schedule should be slightly altered with Burns moving into the conference. I doubt we would play them again in Week 3 as a conference game, but not impossible.

I assume we'll play these same non-conference teams - Freedom, AC Reynolds, Crest, Kings Mountain...plus conference games against Burns, R-S Central, Chase, East Rutherford, East Gaston and South Point.

Who will replace Mt. Pleasant? Shelby has essentially had two years in a row with one-game deals...2017 at Rock Hill, SC South Pointe...and 2018 at Mt. Pleasant. Would be great to get a home game against a quality opponent.

On paper Shelby returns 7 starters on offense assuming everyone returns (2 WRs, 1 RB, 1 QB, 1 C, 1 RT, 1 LT)...need to replace 2 WRs, 1 LG, 1 RG.

On defense Shelby returns 5 full-time starters (1 DT, 2 LBs, 1 CB, 1 S)...need to replace 2 DEs, 1 DT, 1 LB, 1 CB, 1 S)...2 of the defensive starters that graduated will be playing on Saturdays next year (LB and CB), and perhaps another one (DE).

On special teams Shelby returns the Place Kicker and Kickoff Specialist, but loses the Punter.

Replace Mt Pleasant with Reidsville/Huss/Dillon/Chester... or maybe roll dice with Vance if they feel they can play with the big boys next season

any one of those four would have a big crowd(except Vance maybe) and gauranteed fireworks

Know what "what you did after the game" means, Frank?

Banned...hmmm...must not like what we are saying if you jump to immediately asking that question. Facts can hurt....we understand...but you can't argue with facts.

The 2 WRs we are losing weren't huge contributors. With the 2 most productive receivers returning in Mitchell and Dailey as well as Husky now assuming a starting role I don't think it would be too hard to find 2 more receivers for 5 wide sets. I would like to see Tim Ruff assume one of those positions. He could be tricky out of a split position.

With the platooning of the D-line that we did this year I wouldn't really say we have to replace those 2 DE and DT but rather have 3 guys that were rotating in assume starting roles.

It sure is fun to be a Golden Lion!!
