Reidsville (9-0) 57 Jordan-Matthews 0

Most of these Shelby posters are complete butt holes...I hope the brackets put us against each other EARLY

You troll around and bash programs because you know deep down Reidsville has the best team they've had since 09. You know there's a very good chance somewhere around early December one of these two programs is going South or making the trip North to find out who's the real deal. Talk trash... Justify... compare this team to our last couple of meetings whatever makes you feel good. Hell, you can even sleep on us.

When I speak on weak schedules I'm talking more towards playing better teams to give our kids some exposure and to help gate money no scouts or fans is going to come out and see us play our conference games. Let's be real here. If I didn't have a son playing no way in hell I would have went to J-M this past Friday. I really don't think our schedule is going to affect us as far as going to states or not because once we get in the playoffs each game will get harder and harder. By the time we get to the 3rd or 4th round we will be back in top playing form like were against NW. With that being said Reidsville might not get tested until the 4th round.

It won't be early ... each team will in all probability be seeded on 10-0 records so it will be luck of the draw (coin flip) to see who gets the top seed in the West. Earliest meeting will probably be regional final.
Somebody said Shelby might go 2-AA this year ??? ... Reidsville is definitely 2-A.

Trust me, you don't hope that, that would just mean you get exposed early, it's going to happen. You should hope that you're not in the west, period. You've done nothing since being placed back in the west, there are some teams here that will rock you, give you all that you want.

Reidsville wouldn't even be threadened in the east, and you know this. You guys would be on cruise control in route to the state championship as the east representer.

How would anyone know this? You all claim this every year only to use the injury excuse whenever your season comes to an end. Heck, every team is banged up/have injuries come playoff time. That's a played out excuse from you guys.

As I stated earlier, then why are you wasting your time to bash us. The only time Reidsville has had injuries was last year and it wasn't end of the season we lost 3 key players in week three. If you guys or any other team in 2a loose three starters you're in deep trouble. I'm sure you guys haven't seen us play this year, mainly because you would feel it's beneath you. I don't think you'll find any Reidsville poster who hasn't shown you guys respect even though you make it very hard.

We had some injuries in 2013 too. But Shelby was the better team even if we were healthy

FWIW, the 2016 Rams edition is the best in Reidsville history. Bigger, faster, more depth and the best QB in team history. And yes, I have seen them all.

Honestly, as a program, I don't have anything against Reidsville. I respect your history rich program, and you've beaten us before, but I just get tired of seeing SOME of you beating your chest over these lopsided scores that are posted weekly, bragging about records being set, knowing damn well y'all are not playing anyone. Can't help where y'all are placed, it's geography based, but yuur conference is just a joke, period. It's not a true indicator of how good you really are, nor does it prepare you for formidable competition.

I think what Mule is saying is that this is a very good team despite the schedule. I think if you look back we've all said we can play with anyone in 2a. If you're better than us so be it. We'll tip our hand and shake your hand. To compare this team to years past or to completely discard us based on schedule is like comparing this years Duke basketball team to last. Two different teams

Believe me, fans are staying away in droves because of these mismatches. Not good for the team or the bottom line. Opposing teams are only bringing a handful of loyal parents to Reidsville games. We'll see this week when Bartlett Yancey visits. Should be a good homecoming crowd on the home side.

Some Shelby posters feel because they beat us before its an indicator they'll beat us this year.

Nope! Not to beat a dead horse, it's solely based on your schedule. Not calling Reidsville weak, but eastern football as a whole is weak, in my opinion. Traditionally, the east used to be stronger in basketball, and by the looks of it in recent years, it appears to be that way now. Having said this, if we do indeed meet up, I'd bet you and give you 14 points, seriously. I think we'd smoke you. That's just my honest opinion.

The Reidsville non-conference schedule has always been as ambitious as possible. Northwest Guilford (4-A), Northern Guilford and High Point Andrews are solid programs.

Yeah, but then it plummets. Your jv team could seriously compete for the conference championship. No matter how special you all think this 2016 edition is, it's going to be a detriment come playoff time, have some adverse affect on you. Your players aren't even dirtying their uniforms.

We've ran through our schedule, too, but best believe South Point, Kings Mountain, Burns, and AC Reynolds all imposed some physicality on us. Crest will, too, November 4th.

The NCHSAA realignment folks and the county school officials had Reidsville locked into eight of their 11 games the last four years. They've managed to get some strong programs for the remaining spots. An extra spot opens up next year with the smaller conference. Reidsville will face two 4-A schools next year along with the two-time 3-A Virginia state champion. You can't fault them for trying to play the toughest schedule possible.

I'm a Reidsville fan to the heart but 'this isn't our best team ever...that was insane, the QB statement is debatable

Agreed ...way too early for that assessment. Let's see how Rams fare in playoffs.

Like the saying goes, opinions are like azz holes, everyone has one. We'll see after the end of the year who is the better judge of talent.
I really could care less if they win a championship or not I'm just sick of seeing all these young men go from grid iron stars to sitting in the stands 10 months later...lets put some effort into getting these kids into somebody's college...screw a championship..and that's my opinion

Best teams and players are always debatable. What isn't debatable is Reidsville and Shelby both have outstanding teams this year, and have important games this week. If they are meant to meet up then it will happen.

Ramking... who would you toss in the QB debate?

Any QB that has won more then a conference championship against very mediocre talent

Hard to not mention Anthony Crews (2002) in the state championship QB conversation -- 1000-yard passing and rushing and became Elon's starting QB as a freshman. (Too bad Elon had a coaching change after that season). Tyrell Houghton (2009) was also a tremendous dual threat and was sensational as a senior at Elizabeth City State. In his final college game, he threw for 485 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for another 105 yards, accumulating 590 yards of total offense against Bowie State.

Just wondering who has not gotten an opportunity to play at the next level that had the credentials to play. I mean that passed the visual test. The S.A.T...The G.P.A.... The character test. The speed test. The strength test and did not get an opportunity to play at the next level, just asking.

This is the difference between our fans and you guys. Did we honestly think East Burke or Chase were gonna give us a game? Of course not but we travel in droves no matter who we are playing. No ties anymore except the love of the program.

72 if I said the sky is blue you would argue. I know you think it didn't effect your program. It may not effect it during the regular season. It may not effect it in the first couple of rounds of the playoffs, but at some point, it will. You can't loose two or three starters and expect it not to effect you. I know you will tell me once again, how great Shelby is and its next man up BS. If it didn't effect you they wouldn't have been starters to begin with. It might be as simple as a player that was going one way is having to go both ways and he's not as fresh late in a game. It might be that starter was a step faster than his replacement.

Na, no one plays both ways with us. If we were allowed to play in a 4A bracket this year then yeah....it might would affect us. We are 2 and 3 deep this year. Let me check what the "new" guy is doing...two weeks ago at #7 in the state in 3A and undefeated Burns, he went 8 carries for 95 yards and a TD and 2 receptions for 94 yards. Sounds like a great fill in to me.

I really hope we meet in the playoffs....2A or 2AA....wherever Reidsville goes I really hope we go!!

For once, 98Champ, we are in agreement. Let's both hope Shelby and Reidsville are in the same bracket!

What's your jersey number I will keep an eye out for you on the field?

Not to get too involved in the quarrel here, but what ever happened to that QB that you had when we met in 2007 title game... Was it Ray Ray Butchee?
Also that big TE/WR Mike something? Those two stood out to me in that meeting that year...

I see 98 is back too, regardless of what he/they think I had absolutely zero to do with his banning... Actually it was kind of boring with out him/them...So welcome back

From this Shelby fan, if what yall say about this being one of the best Reidsville teams ever than we may be in for a battle.I believe Shelby has a very good team this year but not near one of their best ever.I do agree that your conference schedule is horrible but you can not help that but the way you are beating those teams is impressive.

Ray Ray Butchee was a great field general. He did not have the skills of Crews, Houghton (2009) or Wilson (current QB) but he was a fearless leader who refused to lose. The kind of guy you want to follow in battle. Unsurpassed leadership skills.

Maybe TGT can fill you in on the TE (Mike Brown).
