Preferred Walk Ons are guaranteed a roster spot and are recruited. Just means no scholarship. Those with PWO's are given the future opportunity to earn a scholarship. So, if they are on a D1 team, they went D1. They count.

I guess in a technical sense that's true but let's not pretend it's the same thing because it isn't.

Murphy has a PWO at UNC right now that took the same route Stevens took, is either the same situation as Murphy's scholarship player at Florida or East Surry's 2 scholarship players at UNC? No.

That cardinal group was special. 5 d1 players in 1a football is unheard of.

They were a special team, no debate but 4 D1 scholarship players is not unheard of in 1A football, Murphy's 1986 team had 5 scholarship D1 signees, two of the five went on to be multi year starters in the ACC and SEC respectively.

Gotta remember , Mosley and stevens were preferred walk on one last year but still rostered this year. So essentially 5 players that are playing d1 football today and one 4 star recruit ( younger gosnell ) that will be playing somewhere next year. I imagine Carolina since he withdrew his commitment to Ohio state
