Pisgah basketball

We were co-champions with North Henderson after splitting with them this season.. they were awarded a 2 seed and we were given a 9 so we have to travel. In what world does this make sense? Also Tuscola who finished 3rd and 2 games behind us and North got an 8 seed and gets to stay home the first round. Idk what kinda idiots they have figuring out brackets but they need to learn what they're doing!

Welcome to the new NCHSAA playoff seeding system!

I believe North was given their seed because of winning conference tourney which meant they won the tie breaker with Pisgah.

This then put Pisgah in the "pot" with everyone else not an outright regular season or tourney champ. Then the conference finish does not matter as NCHSAA has decided to use overall records instead (based on 20 game schedule) where nonconference weighted just as much as in.

Looks like Tuscola reported record is 15-5 while Pisgah is 14-6.

Great conference season for Pisgah but in this brave new world teams have to learn to schedule more cupcakes in nonconference.

What a joke! They basically change it every single year so how can a team get ahead? Lol almost every single season since the 05 one where we won state it has been different.. we need consistency other states have a clear system that works

The state has actually advocated a system that works:

Develop a private/charter/magnet/open enrollment school draw from a large area and play in a small classification.

Hahaha yeah true! They've screwed a lot of great 1A basketball teams
