Myers Park 21 Mooresville 17

Mooresville led 17-14 at the half but could not add anything to it the rest of the way. Myers Park fell on a Mooresville onsides kick attempt to start the second half and quickly drove downfield to take the lead 21-17. The Mustang offense played a decent game, I thought. Their defense gave up some big plays but did have 2 pics and a fumble recovery on a high snap. Mooresville lost their starting QB midway through the 3rd quarter. Mooresville also botched a fake punt inside their own territory. Myres Park did a fine job and displayed some class by taking a knee inside the Mooresville 5 to end the game. Good luck to them next week. Mooresville ends the season at 8-4. See yall next year!

Needs be a change in philosophy (not saying get rid of our coaches).. How we work, how we practice... All of it. We have regressed nearly every year since leaving the I-Meck. We went from being a hardnosed, physical football team, to being softer than a marshmallow. There is a huge sense of entitlement there with our players that needs to go away.... 8-9 wins in this conference is nothing to feel good about.

Blue Devils graduating a bunch. JV QB showing some promise. Hopefully, next year will be the last for the NPC 3A/4A.

Bottom line on the season, offense fell flat in the big games (Hough, Kannapolis, playoff loss to Myers Park). Special teams play, aside from the kicker, was a heart attack for much of the season. Defense held their own, even after Dukes went down.
