Definitely should be together for the most part. Especially wilkes/surry/yadkin....I can see Stokes being paired with Forsyth and Rockingham...really depends on how teams fall in classification
Spring meeting for NCHSAA happens in a few weeks. Realignment is the big ticket item...but here are some other items they'll discuss that I found interesting:
New eligibility rules from the State Board of Education
Changing the RPI formula used for the state playoffs
Delaying the start of the spring sports season
Eliminate the early start to the basketball season for schools that do not play football

I think those refs need those body cameras to keep an eye on folks who hang out and post on here, then go out to games and disrupt them!!! 😂🤣
I don't even know the last time I've seen a ref get stuff thrown at them. 🤣. Words aren't gonna harm you lol
Ballantyne Ridge will have 2200 students for next year's ADM or will they put them at 2200 based on assumed enrollment? It makes dividing the 32 easier if they are in.
I believe it's a "well educated assumption".

I have a Big 32 projection I finished earlier this week. Today I added the 2 new schools voted in today. Ask me a team and I'll let you know where I have them.
Not spilling the whole beans this time. Gonna be submitted to the realignment committee in an official capacity...obviously with room to tweak once ADMs come out...but it's a blueprint for the Big32 Scenario.
In all seriousness. Why? What benefit does a classification of 32 bring?
Also I read that 24-28 teams will make the playoffs in 8A? So 4 teams aren't invited? Why not have all 32 make it then? The difference between 32 and 28 is probably negligible.

My 2 cents:
1. The big schools will get what they want at the end of the day. They play the greater amount of sports and bring in the most revenue. If they want a 32 team class...they'll get it or they'll leave the NCHSAA and create their own athletic association while possibly bringing in more schools than just 32.
2. Playoffs - Playoffs will most likely be 5 weeks, 32 is the perfect number for 5 weeks and what all other classifications will most likely get, but if all 32 make it that's extremely unfair to all other classifications...so the next best option is 28...but that's even unfair within 8A itself if the east/west split is 17/15 or anything other than an even split...that leaves the next best option (and my proposal) of 24 teams and seeds 1-4 getting a first round bye.
Nothing will be perfect. Not everyone will be happy. But the alternative is sometimes worse than what you're getting.
I've been involved with multiple big schools and do not know anyone that wants the big 32. IDK. To me its the state trying to do too much. Either they do nothing or too much.
I got a strong feeling from all the murmuring at the Winter coaching clinic that Big 32 was going to happen. Not just from the bigger schools, but also from the schools in the middle of the pack of ADMs...traditional smaller 3A schools will now play against traditional 2A schools in the new 4A, etc.
In my scenario I have 0-390 1A, 392-590 2A, 592-782 3A, 783-956 4A, 960-1206 5A, 1214-1608 6A, 1609-2139 7A, 2200-3671 8A
It didn't necessarily have to be the big 32 pushing for this scenario. Could have been just as well the 20 to 25 schools just below the big 32 pushing for it. Not wanting to play in the same classification with them it was going to be a huge number discrepancy between the smallest to biggest 8a. Without a split

Had to round up those ADM numbers to the nearest multiple of 25, 50, or even 100 ... No one will remember those exact figures ...
Don't think any of that matters. If you do the math and what they're going to say is big 32. Then if you add them up I believe it's 57 to 59 teams in each division. One day might be smaller but sounds like they're going to put them together with two a maybe if there's not a lot of football schools. Won't really matter what their ADMs other than what the number is in regards to where they fall in the 57 to 59 range.
Pretty much...where the 58 to 59 fall though matters because you have schools with the same ADM being split into two different classes.

It does. No way removing non football schools happens anytime soon, if ever.
1A/2A will be a combined football championship: in my scenario, there are 19 football playing schools in 1A (10 east, 9 west) and 47 football playing schools in 2A (22 east, 25 west) totalling 66 football playing schools (32 east, 34 west). I am assuming a 5 round, 32 team playoff, so 34 teams won't make it (16 east, 18 west).
Richmond will be 7A, Scotland will be 6A. Purnell Swett and Lumberton will be 7A.
Hope this want happen but heard East Gaston Burns and Shelby East Burke and maiden in the same conference!!
Probably just one of HSOT scenarios. Actual realignment committee isn't even put together yet and won't have it's first meeting until July
