Murphy at Robbinsville round 4.

I said this on the Mitchell/Mount Airy thread and I will say it here. It’s not always the best team that wins but the best team on this night ! I’m sure both teams are prepared and will leave it all on the field
I will say the weather reports are off a lot. WXII on TV, not the streaming forecast says winds dying down tonight after sunset. So who knows when it comes to the weather.
When you set in a 3-4 defense all night with no adjustments against a wing T you are asking for the beaten ER got
ER was very unimpressive on film..probably the slowest line on both sides of the ball I've saw all year. Not sure how some of theses rankings are derived..However, what Murphy done to them was pretty impressive. It was their biggest blowout of the season. ER ,on this particular night looked like a 4th or 5th place SMC team. Besides Murphy, Andrews, Robbinsville and Cherokee would have given them fits. As for tonight, my mind says Robbinsville but my heart says Murphy. I just don't know if we have the leadership on such a young team to get it done. I hope I am very wrong. If Kage runs over the dogs linebackers and actually puts a hurting on them and it this cold, it will open lots of things up.

Went undefeated…
#2 SOS in 1A west…
Not sure why they would be ranked high…
Now Murphy did whoop them badly but there as others have said it’s about matchups.
There was one other large extenuating circumstance but this is definitely not the place to mention it.

I'm finding it hard to make friends down here even when complimentary and humble.
I have wondered about the circumstance as well. Just seemed like their heads weren't in it across the board. But that's how she goes. Not making any excuses. Every week this time of year you face the best team you've played and only one moves on.

Murphy was a much improved team from the one we saw earlier in the year. Those coaches and players deserve credit but at the end of the day it wasn't even a close game. I think it was 28-07 with a minute left in the game.

Well executed game plan by the Knights. 3rd down conversions were almost flawless. Qb play for the Knights was very impressive. 2 state championships 7 months apart for the SMC sounds good to me. Good luck moving forward.
Congratulations to this group of senior Black Knights..They just went 5-1 against the Murphy Bulldogs during their varsity career.
Give Murphy credit. It very easily could be 6-0. The better team doesn't always win though

I think Murphy played Robbinsville close last night despite the score, Murphy overall was way better defensively than they were in the first game between the two and Murphy moved the ball well most of the night, the difference is Robbinsville consistently executed on 3rd down and Murphy just didn't make the plays when they really needed to. In a lot of ways I was much happier with Murphy's performance last night than I was in the 3 point loss. If Murphy had scored right before half I think the whole momentum of the game changes and it would've been a nailbiter, who knows for sure though. In big games like that between two good teams the game is won or lost on a handful of plays, Robbinsville executed on theirs and Murphy didnt, it's that simple.
Good luck to the Knights next week. I also wanted to say I saw a lot of good sportsmanship from your players last night, good group of kids.

It was a very good defensive effort from Murphy. Think they were the only team to hold Adams under 100 yards with him playing the whole game.
QB play from Robbinsville was huge. Also #2 made some big receptions.

Lol we know you’re joking but that is interesting to think about. Was Robbinsville going on this run with or without Gentry lighting that fuse about getting better? Did that statement push the program to the current level?
