Madison Hires New Coach

Another WNC opening. #3 @ the current moment. Definitely ranks way behind the Asheville and Tuscola gigs though. Member of the WHC conference, with Mt. Heritage, Mitchell, Owen, Polk, & Avery. Doesn't look like there's been much to be excited about lately for them. Been pretty bad for a while now. They have a high coaching turnover rate. Only high school in the whole county. If you've ever been there, then you know it's just a different kinda place. Lol. Absolutely beautiful area though. Very rural. Anybody know if they have anything at all coming up in the pipeline?

Just my opinion .Madison county want let a coach stay long enough to build a football team. Even if they have a good coach , which Madison has had a good coach or two, but he leaves for greener pastures. The thing about Madison is they have over 800 students so out of than many you can't help but have some athletes, and some big tough kids. They have had some very physical teams in the past. Also wonder how many transfers does North buncombe get , if any from Madison.

25 players on Varsity, 15 on JV. Better be recruiting the halls like crazy. And the Administration has to give somebody time to build/re build the program. It's not going to happen overnight.

Madison has some really good talent in middle school, look for some of them leave. Really can't blame them it's a dumpster fire, way to political their, COUNTY
cares nothing about football, even stadium is falling down. I feel sorry for the kids,

Look like they have promoted from within. I've never heard of him. Hopefully, he can turn that program around some. He's sure as heck got his work cut out for him.

I wonder if they promoted from within out of necessity rather than having an option? That's a hard place to win.

I would say necessity. 1-21 last two years. 0-11 last season. I'm guessing the line wasn't very long.

Well, they interviewed 8 candidates. 7 could have been internal, since Burdette also applied, but at least there were 8 total people willing to interview for it.
