KM vs South Point

I haven’t seen KM play in a couple years. I know they have been really good lately. South Point will be coming in off a huge win. The teams confidence will be over the top. I’ll be there with the Red Raider faitful. Oh and it’s supposed to be a cool night. Mama said, Don’t forget your jacket

Hey - are there going to be any death threat signs from the KM kids toward SP players this time around at John Gamble?

Considering the sympathy Gaston County officials have shown thus far for counties hit by the hurricane they might protest this $2 increase.
Man I can really say a lot about that. Some of the Big South GC coaches and AD’s did not do the CC schools any favors. I can’t speak for what happened with Burns or Shelby. CC schools had to make an exception to the no school no practice rule just so the county teams could have at least two practices not to exceed two hours to prepare for their games after not playing the previous week and being put in limbo on game dates. We still had kids without power during that time after the storm up to the games last Friday. You still had GC teams practicing with the exception of one day and a couple of GC Big South teams were able to get a game in because they were playing each other. Thats why I am advocate of not having most of the GC schools in one conference. It create too many issues and conflicts of interests. The officiating in Gaston County overall especially at the GC home games in Gastonia, the GC AD being on the NCHSAA Board of Directors at this time, and how some of their coaches obviously collude with each other with point A being how it handled this scheduling should say a lot.

I read your post twice and I still don’t know what you are trying to say. Officiating, Board of Directors, ticket prices and scheduling. I’m slow I suppose, but I can’t follow your… look a squirrel.

Those that know will know what’s being referenced.

You are saying GC had some advantage -right?
I don't disagree with you totally on this (believe it or not) - IF you are saying the whole week (2 weeks ago schedule that was missed by most) should've been moved to the end of the season. I don't know why that decision wasn't made by Tuesday, 12pm as long as all ADs were able to make it and I understand they all were...but the meeting occurred later on.
Officiating for Ashbrook and HH has been pretty slanted in recent years. I think it is due to flagging teams beating them badly, and refs helping keep it at 21 point half leads and making it hard for 28 plus point leads to happen. I haven't seen many Crest/KM vs those teams but I can only imagine refs give those GACO teams plenty of help. Despite the specific few who say the same about SP- that is crazy talk. Anytime SP is given a "hold" call that ref should be psychologically analyzed. Yes it can happen - but with how they block, and at the level they block it is physically hard to hold. You all have seen their pass blocking - enough said. Ain't no holding going on.

I am usually in total disagreement with you but I actually agree with most of what you just posted. The officiating at SP has been much improved the last couple of years, not perfect but much improved and nothing egregious except for maybe the one really controversial call in the Crest/SP playoff game a couple years ago. The officiating at Huss and Ashbrook home games last year and now Forestview this year was overwhelmingly slanted to the home teams benefit. I do not like the appearance of high school officials from Gastonia( not Gaston County) officiating games involving the Gastonia teams. Some of those officials are friends with some of the assistant coaches on those staffs. It would be hard to be completely objective in those circumstances I never thought about it but yes we were stuck on 14- 21pt leads in both of those games last season due to “penalties” when KM got on their side of the 50 or had big offensive plays.
SP looks good on video. The offensive line really comes off the ball and Blee is Blee. I don’t really worry about holds against SP because the line is usually cut blocking. SP’s o-line, defensive tackles, and inside linebackers are really good in the box. We have our work cut off for us.

I'm sticking to my preseason predictions. KM wins this one and Crest beats KM, causing a 3-way tie at the top.
KM and SP both still have to play Ashbrook also. I predicted that no one would go undefeated in the conference. There is going to be a first place team in a 3A west conference somewhere that will possibly have to play the number 4 seed out of this conference in a first round playoff game. Not what you want to see in a first round opponent.

Agreed. I still think Ashbrook loses to both KM and SP, but they are finally living up to their potential. Let's see if they can keep it going.
