I am a WRH believer now....

Great wins by ED and WRH, but.....considering who the DarkHorses have played, don't count the DarkHorses out just yet. They're not that far removed from last years 13-1 team. We'll see down the stretch!
i agree. it will be a three ........"horse" race lol

Who ever makes it from your side of the state won't win either way.
2A West plays tougher teams than Havelock and Jacksonville and can win by bigger margins. Enjoy this moral victory and your winning season.
by your logic that would mean that 2A East never wins the 2A/2AA state championship, and everybody knows thats not true. East has won plenty of them. Clinton was dominant in the 90's, and Tarboro and Southwest Onslow were very good not long ago. a Western team can take the East lightly this year if they want to. it will be at their own peril.

We will see...so tired of the West thinking that is the only place in the state that plays football. Just wait.

Lol well according to Chopper we just play middle school level ball and we will be lucky to stay within 3 scores of his Elites out west.....oh and he has his precious stats to back up his BS......idc how many titles the West have won in recent that does not mean we play watered down football East of Greensboro and it dont mean s*~t in 2017......hope someone finally serves him a nice crow sandwich with some humble pie for dessert.....never seen a poster continually down play good football....like last year Clinton was some a average team to him lol.....he needs to come out that box

I remember last year late in the playoffs a western guy talkimg about "who is East Duplin" "Never heard of them" but in the same sentence claim to be a big expert of high school football in NC??????....1997,2002,and i believe it was 2009 if it werent for some really good Clinton and Tarboro teams 3 State Championship banners would possibly be hanging somewhere in Charles Richard Powers Stadium....these so called "experts" need to start researching the teams they continually put down..1997 ED was probably one of the best teams ever to not win a State Title.......we are rivals but gotta respect that program and what they bring to the table

i appreciate the compliment. we havent won state but that shouldnt matter to a so called football expert. i know of several great programs out West , despite the fact that they havent won state. i guess some of those Western guys only know state championship winners.

Since 2000 you're 8-32 vs 2A/2AA west, thats' 8 wins and 32 losses. THIRTY TWO losses. I don't see that changing this year. There is a good chance who ever you send MAY NOT get blown out this year. I expect closer margins from 2A/2AA east this year. That's all I'll give you.

Little 2a will be tough this year especially if Shelby goes small...I can see possibly a Shelby-WRH matchup or Reidsville-WRH matchup and both would be awesome....but I don't want try to get ahead of myself...lol

Well we gonn do all we can do get there wrh not saying we the best but i think we can shock the and shut some mouths 3 down 7 more to go then playoffs..Anything Can Happen. and Go wrong. I dont count us out!!!!

It would be nice to see Reidsville go east this season, so things can be way more interesting in small 2A

Right now WRH and E Duplin are the leaders to represent 2a and 2aa in the east. Shelby vs WRH would be epic! But that will have to wait until ADM come out.

Well wrh not counting our chickens yet but we are hoping just to have a good injury free season and win games ,this week its northside jv.so one game a week at a time... In the meantime lets Go Bulldogs!!

Hey @DuplinCountyTiger you see Sutton get his first collegiate TD for OU....53 yards 1 TD 29 yards receiving...not bad for the former JK Tiger.....benefits of our watered down eastern football lol

I will say it right now. If ED and Wallace stay injury free. I believe both will represent the East and I promise you this there will be a state title between at least one of them. I don't give a crap who they play out west!

You should post this again around playoff time.

Remember 8-32

Further more Shelby has only about 6 of those 32 which is almost equal to the entire east 8. Even when the wests sends one hit wonders like West Stokes they still win.

Although I am a New Hanover fan I spend a lot of time in Duplin County and follow James Kenan and WRH fairly closely. I knew what kind of defensive presence Coach Mot would bring to Teachey. The cupboard was chock full on D and I knew Mot would have them playing with an edge.

The offense is what I was waiting to hear about. I knew Mot wanted to open it up a bit and read where they scored twice last week through the air. I didn't see the game but if the passing game is legit then WRH will be handful. I would appreciate any analysis of the passing attack against Havelock.

Good luck to the Dogs the rest of the way from NHHS.

If wallace makes it to the ship ,not jumping the gun ,whoever ,whenever ,wherever,we will be ready to play,no matter who if we win we win if we lose we lose, just know we coming to play and play hard. Let the shelbies of the world handle their teams business and wrh handles it business ,All other teams do what they do and in thse end their can be only one ,Lets Go Get Em Dogs!!! We Not All Bark,But All Business!!!

Well since I started the post,I just wanted to add in that I travel all across the state sometimes to watch teams play...I have watched Shelby,Reidsville,N-C,and the Lincoln county teams for many years and have got to say that this WRH team reminds me so much of Monroe from a couple years back...if they will open up the passing more I believe they could be like the dominating Reidsville teams of the early 2000s....they are fun to watch and I enjoy sitting with their fans(hard to believe but some of the fans are from where I grew up)...hope all teams stay healthy all the way to the playoffs...will be a awesome year in 2a....

Shelby vs WRH could possibly be the best championship game in any clarification, of course ADMs need to come out.

For 3 of the last 5 years Havelock was the best team in 3A. Don't downplay that. Go back and check. Those guys have been for real.

Wallace may need to work on a few things to get better, but that's a good thing.

You might want to check your math on this fact. The a/aa split did not start until 2001 because that means that 17 seasons have passed with the split and 2 x 17 is 34 champions + 1 champion the year prior (2000). That would only be 35 games not 40. do you agree?

Oh yeah. Only 1a did the split as a pilot for the state So that means that there were only 34 games

I stated during the off season on one of the threads about east vs west that " WRH has had 1aa teams over past 4-5 years that were best suited to play with Shelby", and of course I was laughed at. Not that I am a Wallace fan, but just like I thought Shelby has been dominated ( yes I have seen them play) Wallace has been right there also and possibly this year Shelby will have there first real challenge in a state Championship game.

East West
14 - 18 32 games This is the real record. Reidsville is a border team so it plays east sometimes an west others.

Many of the Greensboro area schools play back and forth depending on the numbers. In 1994 Wallace played a Eastern Regional game against SW Guilford enroute to a championship over Lincolnton in the 2A finals.
