Myers Park will advanced to 3rd rd after defeating Hickory Ridge 3-0. Myers Park will be a team in the West to keep eye on in 4A. Myers Park will play Garinger in 3rd rd.
Charlotte Catholic beat a stout West Forsyth 2-1. They will play Hough in 3rd rd. Surprisingly Hough defeated Asheville 2-1.

Consistent with my prior posts, 7 of the 8 teams remaining in the 4A bracket are from the Triangle. New Hanover, the only non triangle team, continues to surprise me, although I think they made it to the 3rd round last year. After finishing 5th in the conference this year they are playing well. I am not sure they can beat Green Hope this week, but I said the same about the Enloe. One thing for certain, they are the only Wilmington team that has a history of being able to win versus the Triangle teams.

First Flight takes on Jacksonville next. I am thinking the winner will represent the east. JH Rose may also have a chance. (Full disclosure, I am less familiar with the western most teams - W Alamance and S Durham)

In 1A west I'd like to see Polk County do something. I think they've been soccer state champs before and they're a traditional 1A where a great many of the other schools left are charters.
