The topic is boring now. Charters aren't going anywhere and like traditional schools (which is why transfer/recruiting rules where enforced) some don't play by all the same rules as others. Is it frustrating, sure, but only because Charters are catching up in football now. I didn't hear a word 10-15 years ago when "traditional" schools thought it was cool to beat down a charter because they weren't really good. Now, well, its a different story. These Charters started hiring AD's and solid coaches along with investing $$ into programs and here we are. The lottery for 99% of charters is legit and if not followed correctly, could result in a lost charter. I will say, it is less crowded in a lottery in HS than in Elementary. I do, however, wish they would let the Charters that are successful go up to 3A and 4A.Look at UCA wrestling if you want to see what an all star team is. At one point they had kids from Chatham, Lee, Randolph, Guilford, Davidson and Montgomery County. Please tell me how a small rural or small city school who has what they have can compete against that? And when WSP was winning in basketball people were charged up about it. 6'8 and 6'9 kids that come from all over forsyth county playing 1A ball against home grown talent is ridiculous. Bishop girls is a fine example as well. Girls from several counties on those teams playing small school teams with what they have. Defend it all day, but the truth is out there and it has been a problem and will now become a problem for the higher classes after May! Goodbye and welcome to 2A/3A/4A classes with the all star teams.
