It should be a good one! West Caldwell has in my opinion played its best football of the season the last two weeks. Their offense has been very good all year behind Titus Tucker, who is making an outstanding case for SD-7 player of the year. The defense has been the pleasant surprise having contained a high scoring Maiden crew last week and a bruising running attack from West Lincoln this week. They are healthy and have a lot of momentum on their side.

East Lincoln took the tough loss to Lincolnton and bounced back with wins over Bunker Hill and Newton Conover. Coached by Mike Byus you know they will be incredibly prepared and they will have the most balanced offense that WC will have faced this season. Defensively - the Mustangs appear to be on par with the Warriors as only two opponents (Lincolnton and Newton Conover) have scored more than 14 points on them.

I look forward to an excellent game - hopefully the home crowd will turn out in a big way and hopefully WC will come out on top! Warrior Pride!

Big night for Caldwell County with Hibriten hosting Freedom. Too bad one couldn't play on Saturday so we could see both games. Good luck Warriors! And yes, Titus Tucker would have to be in top 3 for conf player of the year.

Deeply impressed with this group of boys. Wish them the best in this game. I'm not an extreme doubter or naysayer for any area team but I believe East comes in and takes this by 2 scores. May be a barn burner and come down to a field goal, who knows. I just don't believe the upset will be pulled off. East is just too athletic and well coached even with Surrat walking away and putting on a Lincolnton uniform.

I don't have a prediction but East Lincoln will be their biggest game since the Hibriten game. What English has done is impressive considering the dismal years prior to his arrival. A win will almost ensure a second place finish. West has made vast improvements in the running game and showed their teeth on defense Friday night.

Better watch out because English's stock is very high and he could get lots of offers in western NC. I'm sure he is happy where he is but he would get many interviews if he wanted them.

Now mind you that I'm not sure how the East v WC game went last year but i know in 2013 we put an absolute whooping on WC and then in 2014 we went into practice that week with our coaches telling us they are not the same team as they were in 2013. Despite all of that we went in to that game and played sloppy. I hope they are taken more seriously this year. Once again, i don't know how last year turned out other than the final score. Shoot, i just realized this game is only 45 minutes from Boone, might have to drive down friday night.

Last year is irrelevant. EL romped. We were playing with our backup quarterback due to Tucker being injured and you guys had Surratt times two. What may be more relevant is that the JV games between these two were very close in '14 and '15. Furthermore, I would argue that WC probably has relied on underclassmen playing up o

This would be a landmark win for West Caldwell. Biggerstaff has to be smiling, especially now that stadium bears his name.

Wolfbanker - Does he offer any insight at the practices, or any game day help?

I spoke to Coach Bigg before last Friday's game and he indeed was wearing a big smile. Coach Bigg was asked to speak to the players over the Summer but that is about it. He does not want to be a distraction or possibly marginalize the success of this Warrior staff. He is a big fan of Coach English and has given his full support to the program.

Funny beamer - salt in an open wound - but its OK I'm numb to it by now.

I've seen both play this season (Not on KTC Broadcasting). Could be an interesting matchup. In size, quickness and passing ability Graham and Tucker appear similar. Tucker looks more experienced, I'm thinking Graham is an undercalssman. Both will test the other's pass coverage. I believe defense will make the difference.

Initially, I would have said East, and with some certainty, but when West was able to contain Maiden and Farley they made a believer out of me. I give the Mustangs a slight edge, although, the Warriors might give them a workout.

West Caldwell has a nice facility. It smells like pine trees.

If West Caldwell can hold and Lincolnton wins this will set the stage for a major showdown next Friday night in Lincolnton.

The West Caldwell score isn't a surprise, to me, it's a shocker. Just can't see the Mustangs staying down.

Looks like conference championship with Lincolnton next week for West...

West has a good chance to go far in big 2a playoffs this year...Their defense is good and looks like they stopped all their sensless penaltys..

Yep,could be real bad if he has to take the standard 2 weeks off...especially if they hold on and win tonight....hope he is alright...
