Private School Advantages vs Public.

Rough day for you lol.

What a heck of a drive for ND over 9 minutes

I'm perfectly fine. I don't make myself miserable over who's President like some. I don't make it my personality like some.

They need to keep Ohio State's O off the field. 2nd drive, not off to a good start. OSU about to have good field position.

I didn't say crap last time. It's his right just like every other President's. Just don't wanna hear "we stand with the thin blue line" when he pardons cop beaters.

Maybe he'll get something done tonight instead of rage tweeting.

Where is his tee time tomorrow?
Biden should have arrested those cop beaters during the riots when cities were destroyed. I thought you had to be convicted of a crime to be pardoned. Maybe CNN will tell us all about it.

Well, it is unbelievable but true !

If an individual accepts a presidential pardon, the privilege to plead the Fifth disappears, and the person could be compelled to testify.

Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon for his involvement with the Watergate coverup, and Nixon was never convicted of a crime.

Oh yeah, I paid $5 for a dozen eggs today. I for sure thought they'd be cheap today. Maybe once we get the EOs out of the way renaming the Gulf of Mexico and trying to committ a clear violation of The Constitution and the 14th amendment gets done we'll get eggs taken care of.

Jokes on y'all. Hook line and sinker.
Joke has been on democrats last 4 years and the lies about your president knowing his last name smh!

Makes sense. Biden pardoned them before a jury of their peers found them guilty. Chalk up another one for "The Big Guy".

Maybe they should go to trial and get found guilty. We'll just deny it and get judges to block everything.

Sound familiar?

Elections over with, certification over with and inauguration over with. This thread has moved completely away from private vs. public and I do believe both sides have stated their cases on it.

Time to move back to football discussions. Second draft just came out, everyone can’t be happy with it.

Or fake charges from a judge that donated to the Democrats. Isn’t that the only trail he was found guilty in. The Supreme Court did rule on Presidential immunity though

Well Thunder does always derail threads like this into politics. I’m just not going to read the BS and not comment back

The last one was on TD.

The thing is we can't have a conversation related to a state issue that's polticial without someone having to go off the rails about the "evil Democrats." And I'm not going to listen to the gaslighting.

But this situation in general is political and politics are why we have the current state of things we do regarding our schools and the chaos that's being caused with public schools.

All part of the long game.

Not that anyone asked for my two cents about this, but any time the topic involves politics it's going to get contentious.
The old saying is that "politics ain't beanbag" and that's a fact. It's a hard ball topic and people are going to say things that upset others. Mostly, I think it's best to let that go but still speak your peace. I've seen some pretty harsh accusations thrown around on these boards, but so long as those are made against political office holders those seem like fair game. Take from that what you will.

Also, nothing in rule 2 was broken and no one got mad, called names, or personal attacks. All talks were political !

2. In regards to political posts…. constructive debate and discussion is welcome. Given the climate of current events, we will be very strict on inflammatory comments, especially those directed at other users in this forum including personal attacks, and offensive name calling. If it is personal it gets deleted, regardless of what side you’re on. We suggest if you don’t like a users point of view, either argue against it with a substantive reply, or use the ‘ignore’ feature on the user. No matter the side one takes, users will be welcome to share their thoughts as long as it doesn’t violate any rules.

Ugh...CHARTER schools are PUBLIC. Damn you guys are full of stupidity.
Please give a complete definition if public, list examples of public. I will teach you as to how a charter is not public. Just because it receives " public" funding funding does not make it such. Just as if a cat barks, does that make it a dog?

They receive public funding from the state per pupil like "traditional" schools. Hence, they are public. The fact they are run independently is irrelevant as they are held accountable to following mandated rules and regulations. Also, I'm sure you will bring up equity, enrollment, affiliation, and other nonsense, but the fact they are funded per pupil by taxpayer money trumps any theories.

NCGS 115C-218.15(a) "A charter school that is approved in accordance with this Article shall be a public school with the local school administrative unit in which it is located." Still a cat, just a different breed of cat.

The charter school manual is alot smaller than the public school manual from the state. A totally different set of rules. Amazing how we give so much freedom to one type of public schools but restrict others. But also allow school districts with struggling schools to apply to be restart schools which lets those schools play by the charter school playbook.

Why not let everyone play by the charter manual if it's so great?

Funding sir does not grant public status, you can call an apple an orange but just because you choose to recognize it as such does not mean that the rest have to do so. ANY fake school, charter that offers a limited bussing and or the lack of, is not true public because they lack the fundamental rights of its pupils. So it s different bread of cat? You would allow a mountain lion to live in your home with your children? See how that doesn't work either, and of course the legislator is going to deem it ok, they do not want their children attending schools woth common children.

You guys voted for these folks in Raleigh, not me.

They can't comprehend that though. They don't realize the crap that's going on in Raleigh. They don't seek to understand. They don't know that the party in power has stripped powers of the Governor, AG, and Education Secretary over pettiness. They don't know that the party in power has passed bills to hide transparency in their evil doings. They're blinded by years of propaganda and boogeyman. It's sad and it's one of the reasons why a state that should be in the top 10 in the nation in education is 48th in spending.

We can hoopla over NC being an attractive state for business but what business is going to move into a state without strong public schools?

It's about to get real bad, and don't say you weren't warned.

From last year, but still worth reading. A friend in TN posted it. NC has an ESA program, but restricted to families with kids that have disabilities it seems. But I could see that changing.
