As y'all know I'm not much of a track guy. But figured I'd post for east Burke. Maiden first meet today. Maiden took 3 of top 4 spots in 100 meters. 1 sifford 2. Kendall Roberts. 4. Jeremiah Mackey.

9 maiden kids ran 7 under 13 seconds. And 6 under 12.4 seconds
Maiden not having a super star burner but that many kids running certain times says a lot bout overall athleticism.
So far it’s Willis that runs the tables in the 100M. KJ and Fraley of EB might challenge him one meet for fun and bragging rights but they do other events that they’re better at and that will carry them into the D1 side of things. Fraley hadn’t ran past 2 meets I hope he’s ok.
No blazing overall speed from EB this year on the track but look for a down to the wire shoot out in points between EB, Bandys, and BH. Fraley and KJ moving on after May and that’ll hurt em big time but they do have a bright spot that’s improving and he’s a good football player- Ossie Burken. Only a soph and didn’t finish too too far behind Willis in the 100M. He’s another do it all kid , RB Slot receiver and I think LB

Actually only time I saw on Willis this year was 11.74 and maiden's sifford had a 11.63 so Willis may not be fastest in CVac 🤷🏼♂️
East Burke Girls BB is in the finals 2A tournament Sat North Pitt looks loaded should be a tough one Good Look lady Cavs!!
The freshman Rees is going to be the fastest football player for the cavs in years !!
You’re right I was reading it wrong or something. I was going by the BH meet on the 7th comparing something I guess. Other non CVAC in the meet but the CVAC man is Sweet from Bandys that’s too so far. Willis did finish over any EB boys. Last year Rees had the middle school record in the 100 running under 12. Hadn’t done it this year yet but I believe he will.
I'd be more interested if they ran the 100m in full football gear. That would be more telling 🤣
Hello Good Man Lincolnton. I've been reading the posts but not really posting anything. I rode through Tabor City last week on the way to the beach and snapped a picture of the "welcome to" sign. I sent it to a group of the 78 fellas and they all had a pretty good life.
Just chilling out and spending most of the time in the mountains. Hope all is well.
Just Heard Coach Minor will be taking over the wrestling program at East Burke. He will still be coaching football also.! Weight room time for this group.LOL.

Yeah and if I'm not mistaken I think groups under 10 players can practice and workout together
EB starts Friday. showed off new silver and blue helmets to the kids yesterday looks like the cowboys 50 anniversary for football program this year. Last year was 50th for the school!! ready for some football!!

I will say one thing that really impresses me that I've seen this spring. Is our running back Kendall Roberts whether it translates over to the football field I can't say but looks like he's picked up some speed running track this year you ran at 11.8 and the 100 m last week and no it's not elite time but this boy is a big back and that's moving for him.
He looks like he has thinned a bit and matured some. He should have a good season.
Speaking of Track how bout dem’ Cavs. Taking conference and taking sweet revenge from last years Bunker Hill win by 10 or 11 points. Mostly done by yours truely Kj Byrd and Avery Fraley. 2 guys that would burn ya in open field when healthy. Glad they recovered from their injuries and showed up and showed out last week. Louisville and ECU bound in track.
Only 2nd or 3rd time in school history taking conference in track most likely never to repeat again. Favored to win regionals and POSSIBLY State. Make up time for our girls basketball close state loss. Congrats to these 2 young men that will represent CVAC well in state meet in 2 weeks but regionals first.
Hey don’t count out Willis in regionals in 100M. Newtons Sifford also in the mix, Also 2 good athletes. The big man with 11.8, that’ll be a bus running up the line this fall lol For a big guy that’s dangerously fast so Maiden got good things going all around sounds like

@Wolf4Lyfe who is the leading candidate for the QB position this upcoming year? Cloninger or the JV QB?
Ranbsey from West Caldwell took 1st in conference meet with 10.98. Imagine that last FB team with fastest guy. Lynch mighta ran that in another meet and just had a bad race at conference. He only had 11.52 at conference. Should do better at regionals. Still good time run though

I heard that his 10 second pass was hand timed. I believe his mid 11's are pretty consistent with auto timing.
My friend, a credible source informed me that it was laser timed.
AMD will probably come on here and say a Maiden back ran it in 10.8
I can't confirm that until the kid gets here from Texas 🤣 🐂 ⭐
