sound like the facts that they are recruiting players is starting to hit a nerve.
Just to be clear on things, can you define what you mean by "recruiting" players? And, who is "they?" When I hear recruiting, I think of colleges coaches sending DMs on Twitter, visiting players at their high schools, and recruits going on visits. Can you let me know what you mean, so I can know what to look for?

But, that is what clowns do. Frankly, I don't care why he came to Crest, none of us do. He was within his rights. He made the best decision for his son. I also would like to know what he means by recruiting players, and I also want to know who is "they"? That is a pretty serious charge, and one that should be backed up with evidence. I know when reading the rules of this site that, that sort of thing is frowned upon..
If there is evidence of a Crest faculty member actually recruiting players, I think the evidence should be laid out on this public forum, so we can all see it. I don't think it is fair that 4 Burns fans, and a KM fan knows something that the rest of us aren't privy to.
well actually a few years ago when it went down, I did state some facts and evidence. But as long as they had an "address" and the LEA went with it, they get off scott free. Address was bogus, the reason the linebacker was allowed to transfer was bogus and when you have school board members that are Crest football alumni, you get what you want.
To be clear, Im chiming in because it was brought up. Im over it, Clevaland County high School won a few titles and they are forever known as a school that gets it done with outside players. I sleep well at night...as long as the goats arent getting loose again
I hope this player does show up playing for crest hs this coming season because this event is well known in km and I am sure nchsaa will hear of this.
And if he does. Do you think that Crest "made" him come? Do you think he had no option at all, but to go to high school at Crest? Do you think you that his parents made him come? This goes for Willie, and anyone else who has transferred to Crest. I really want to know if you ignorant people really think someone gave them no choice. OR did the player, or the parent decide that they want to see themselves, or their child actually win titles, win football games, give themselves the absolute best opportunity to play high school football or advance to college? Because realistically you can be butt hurt, and make up whatever you want to, but everyone knows the truth. It was to give themelves, or their child the best opportunity to win. To play for a great football program. Say whatever you want to say, two football programs stand out in Cleveland County year after year.

I believe your a little confused on what he told you. The lb the came to crest did play dline his 2 JV years but had lost alot of weight by the end of his last year on jv . He actually played some snaps at lb in some playoffs games that year and was going to start the next year until he left. There was only one position Willie could play at Burns or crest and that was at QB.
What your describing is against the rules. It could potentially cause games to be forfeited and coaches and administrators to lose their job. In addition its clearly against the rules of this website. So with all due respect to " Mom" please provide proof of contact or shut the hell up.
If I had a dime for every time I have read some he said she said on a message board attempt to show illegal recruiting violations by teams that not surprisingly keep winning state titles I would be rich. Top tier schools have zero need to recruit and would be absolutely foolish to make contact directly with a parent. Its the parents and the athletes that initiate the contact because they dont like their current situation.
If I had a dime for every time I have read some he said she said on a message board attempt to show illegal recruiting violations by teams that not surprisingly keep winning state titles I would be rich. Back when Independence was winning every year they were getting kids from all over and I would bet the farm that those coaches never one time had to pick up a phone and contact a kid or parent. People want to play for and with winners. It's a snowball effect, and once it starts rolling it's hard to stop!
If I had a kid that was a great high school football player and I lived in the Burns district and I made him stay there and play I would be doing him a disservice and not giving him the best chance to make it big in football!
All you blow hard Burns fans can say what you want but you would do the same for your kid regardless of what you might say on a message board!

In any case. He felt it was best for HIS son to move and play for Mark Barnes. The evidence suggests he was absolutely, 100 percent correct. There isn't even an argument that could be made against HIS decision. See thats the part that actually does bother me. You guys say "if your kid had to play for Burns etc" Make fun like you do, but Burns is no slouch, We may not have a trophy case full, but year in and year out we are a good solid program. We have occasional bad seasons like most do. Point is, he helped pick the coach and then they left. I really dont even like giving them glory on here, the linebacker was the better player and his loss hurt more. Its not open enrollment around here, Im sorry Burns was only gonna go 8-3 7-4 with that squad and they felt it would be better to put a CC allstar team together. That teaches no lessons and is WRONG plain and simple. Schools across the state dont ever have a fighting chance if if you are allowed to just welcome kids for all their bogus reasons.
I could understand wanting to play for a program that does well if you were at Draughn or something, but Burns has just a good of an opportunity as Crest to get kids into college.
and yes they will always be welcomed, lets be real here. Look who is on the school board that was salivating at that opportunity for Crest to land those players. Can make up any bogus reason you want but the fact is, Those kids and parents knew what kind of team could have been assembled and they made it happen. Im not mad, it doesnt affect my life in anyway. Just stating the reality of it. You guys are a tainted program and that is starting to show...
