Clinton at East Bladen WK 2

Whelp road doesnt get any easier as Clinton(0-1) heads to E-town to take on East Bladen(0-0) next Friday always a tough place to win a football game. Eagles one of those teams that like to pound the rock so im pretty confident in the defenses ability to stop that cold this year but another valiant defensive effort will be all for not if the offense continues to sputter.....Heard the Eagles are young but East Bladen is one of those teams thats always going to have size and always going to have athletes so i definitely would not overlook them. Player on East Bladen im looking out for is James Higgins RB/LB he pretty much put the nail in our coffin last season with a big time run....not saying this is a must win but a 0-2 start is not ideal
 
Have not seen the defensive stats from the other night but Kaba was a monster i think it was a stretch where he was on 3-4 straight tackles.....J'Dques Wallace had some moments too i like his game watched him kn JV last season has a chance to become a really good player for us
 
Y’all sure do love some kaba I’m just wandering if he is at 4-a school making noise why do you go to 2-a is his dad a coach on the team if so I fully understand. But not ? With what is going on with high school football kids leaving two days before the first game to go to another school. Where is the respect for your school and neighborhood that it is representing. I know y’all don’t think highly on me on some comments I made early in the season but I love high school sports without bullshitt and I pull for all the county schools but what is going on with the high school football and charter schools we are going to kill what it is all about

LoL wow bold statements there. Kaba left a rebuilding SC school to come play at a powerhouse with this uncle and father..why bash the kid or the coach. Your statement referring to the transfer to SWO is why off gauge. His family had been waiting for awhile to do this.

His dad is one of the assistants and lives in Sampson County so no foul play.....and this didnt happen overnight like that situation at Trask
 
And once you put in that uniform you're a Darkhorse doesnt matter if its for 4 years or 1 year so of course we gonna support him and celebrate his accolades he plays for Clinton

Once again not trying to bash anybody but he went to Clinton and if his dad is a coach I fully understand but this is happening a lot around the state and it is no high school football

Keep tellng your self that you might start believe it swo 5 evidently a dark horse in disquise good luck to horses talk to you at end of season
 
So a assistant coach getting a new job and moving his family to where that job is not high school football???....i understand some slick stuff happens but this aint one of those situations feel free and start a thread on that subject this is for Clinton vs East Bladen

Let's not say it happened over night when you don't know the whole story. Been in the works for awhile. Takes time to move a family when the funds aren't there at the time

No James Higgans this year. He transferred to another school.

The difference in last years game was how much East dominated the line of scrimmage especially on offense not sure how many linemen return for them but they were constantly getting 4-5 yards a carry.......think it will be alil harder on them this time around im really not too worried about the defense just hope we establish something offensively

EB will have to rely on a lot of inexperienced player early on. It may not be pretty the first half of the season but I think by the end we should be a solid football team. This team is full of speed and we are definitely in shape.

I think Higgans went out of state. Not for sure though.

What was up with Clinton offense last week? 19 yards? Was Cape Fear that dominant? or did Clinton just have a horrible night finding the hole?

19 yards was a exaggeration thou it was probably not too much more all the stats werent posted in the Fay observer......Offense was very stagnant and predictable.....we literally ran dives all night for no gain 1 or 2 yards then maybe a -2 yard lost.....Cape Fear has a dominant defense but its easy to stop if you putting 10 in the box and we still not attempting to pass

Guys I’m back from AK and thinking of making the trip to East Bladen Friday. Looking forward to the adjustments we have made offensively this week. Saw where they JV game is on Wednesday night this week since orientation is on Thursday.

Wonder why the play calling was so conservative? First game of season against big time opponent, you gotta take some chances and let it fly.

And the coach is concerned about fans talking about players and plays. Clinton will run the ball off tackle and dives all night. No secret

Conservative aint the word lol....i guess they thought something was going to break eventually but down 15-0 in the 4th needing a quick score and we were still doing the same thing was slightly disappointing....even ole Bob in his later years had a shotgun ace formation for 2 mins situations down late in the game situations.......all i know is we better not fall behind 2 scores to anyone or we are in trouble thats a very slow deliberate offense that takes up time not the type you comeback from 2 or 3 scores

Good news Jalen the fb is back this week he will be pounding those guts and dives hard all week
 
Well hopefully this week the line performs a little better and we can see the other part of those options...the QB getting to the edge or the pitch portion....Cape Fear defense was all over it last week think we only got to the edge once
