It is huge for Shelby and Cleveland County. Baseball has been really big since the forties and with Burns winning the state that only helps keeping up the popularity of baseball. But something happens in August that you just have to live in CC to understand.

Curious where you got that statistic. From what has been reported by the ALWS folks, the economic impact for Cleveland County is over 3 million dollars.
Hotels, restaurants, shopping, advertising, tax revenue. Over 600 volunteers each year. Uptown Shelby Association did an economic impact study several years ago and reported over 3 million dollars and GWU school of business dean Negbenabor (spelling) did one more recently and came to near same conclusion.

I actually used some forethought! Had Mrs Lion drive me over to the field and backed down to where the nest is ( first time seeing one like two feet off ground) anyway cracked window and unloaded two cans o spray on em!!! Funny how they attacked the wife’s van !!!! Ha ha
Then to make sure I said the following to my wife “You won’t run over it “ and well she did right up into the weeds and we giggled like five years old on this our 25th anniversary ha ha
