Another Athletic Commitment

I am so very HAPPY to announce that Lake Norman High School Student and MY GRANDDAUGHTER Kaden Whitley last night sign her Commitment Letter to Rhode Island College Gymnastics Program. RIC is located just outside Providence RI.

Kaden is a 4 time NC State Champion Gymnast but has fought through a back issue the past year. This is a dream come true for her.
I know this is not football but.........Funny thing is, I bet only about 15 or 20 students and teachers at Lake Norman even know she has been a gymnnast since she was about 8 years old. She does not talk about it, she just does it.

As a side note, her Father (my youngest son) was a 4 year wrestler and team Captain 3 years at Johnson and Wales University in downtown Providence.

Congratulations! As the father of a former gymnast, I know how difficult (and expensive) the journey can be for a gymnast. Not many athletes receive scholarship assistance for gymnastics.

3 of those years she won all 4 events and the other year she had 3 first and one second by a tenth of a point.
