Speaking of the Catawba Shores conference….I’m just noticing that Langtree Charter and Mountain Island didn’t field a girls team this year.
Gosh?…Langtree went 21-8 last year.

So as of today your top 5 seeds would be
1) Bishop
2) Mtn Heritage

If I’m not mistaken you would have Bishop Albemarle and north Rowan on the same side and Cherokee and Mtn heritage. Not sure how the rest would break down. Lol
The size of Catholic gave them issues. But that’s still a very young basketball team. Bishop made runs just couldn’t get over top of them with the size of Catholic. Hats off to coach Robinson for continuing to challenge his squad.
This 1a west is going to be fun to watch. A lot of good teams, you will see some good games in the first round but that second round in my opinion is going to be a must watch. Looks like highlands is coming on now as well.
Looking into the future a bit, Cherokee girls are gonna be dominant for the foreseeable future. With a young,tough varsity team already in place they're going to have a few freshman with the ability to play/start on varsity next year. The middle school girls just finished another dominant, undefeated season routing Murphy in the conference tournament championship game 62 to 15.
The boys will be tough in the near future as well with a young varsity and some great upcoming talent. Most will probably play jv at least a year but there is some talent already waiting on them there as well on that jv squad. The ms boys beat Robbinsville in the tourney championship 69 to 46

Yeah that was with starting PG going out early 2nd quarter due to injury so could have been worse

ER girls defeated Eastern Alamance last night 61-37. Impressive victory. EA's usually fairly good.

I would keep an eye on E Randolph and E Wilkes. Not much chat about those two teams but they could make some noise.
Absolutely!!! ER has been coming on strong and correct me if I’m wrong but East wilkes has played a pretty good schedule. I think there are some other teams in this Bessemer city, North Rowan, highlands all three of those teams could make some noise as well.
I will tell you another team not to sleep on who will be a wildcard team and that’s UA. This isn’t the same UA team from last year. They got a nice PG and a freshmen that I think by the time she is a senior everybody will know who is 5’10 and can shoot it. All it will take for them is the right matchup.

OH we were SO CLOSE tonight! Just couldn't hit shots down the stretch. Snotherly had another awesome performance.
ER girls defeated Chatham Central 64-49 last night. Nice win. ladies.
How is Chatham this year? A side note I LOVE their gym always liked going there.
Trammell has no help really. It would be a different game if Shuler had decided to play this year. I thought it would be a better game both times but Cherokee just focused on her and wore her down. With her tired and no other real scoring threats the lady knights didn't really have a chance.
They're having a pretty good year. They stand at 11-6 at the moment. Will probably finish second/third in their conference.
