This one could go either way. With South Lenoir having a new coach and being on the road, I give the edge to NJ. NJ by 10

North Lenoir vs. Greene Central
GC had a below average season last year and still handed the Hawks a blowout loss. I expect a similar result this time around. GC by 28+

SWO @ Jacksonville
SWO has been slowly progressing over the past two years and I wouldn't put it past them to pull an upset. I believe Jacksonville will win though. Jville by 14

Kinston vs. South Central
Toss up game. Give me Kinston in an "upset". Kinston by 3

Wallace @ Havelock
Wallace hits the ground running on a tough non-conference slate. This is a rematch of a 1-point victory by Havelock from last year. I think Wallace will be fine this season, but I expect Havelock to win by a few more than last year. Havelock by 10

Clinton @ Northside Jax
I expect Clinton to travel to NSJ and make a statement to everyone questioning how good they can be. They lost a lot from last year, but I still believe they have the athletes to compete. Clinton by 21.

Will they have a good squad this year? I know they travel to Sparta week 3. Last years game was much closer than expected

Murphy defeated the Cherokee Braves 42-8 tonight. Running clock with 3 minutes to go in 3rd quarter. Cherokee has good size and a talented QB and RB; they just couldn't get it going tonight. Murphy played well in all facets of the game. Great job preparing by the coaching staff. Mountain Heritage at home next Thursday.

Hello, I am wondering if there is a website that has a history of all NC teams and their all-time games and with other teams? The radio station that I work at broadcasts Vance County Football and I would like something other than maxpreps, which is great but only goes back to 2004. Does CarolinaPreps.com have something a database like that? Something similar to what Virginia HS has with fourseasonsfootball.com. Thanks again!

Davie lost their star RB after a 7-4 season but they have some really good returning starters. Last year, they gave Mooresville a good game losing 31-24 but they've always been that team who is dangerous early in the season.(Ask Page HS). If the Davie defense has got better... then lookout. A well coached team.

I have no clue what Mooresville has returning but they are coming off a great year and they are well coached.

I just looked at the Burlington Cummings schedule for this year and I was shocked that we are not playing Williams for the first time in 55 years. WTH is the reason, does anyone know why?

Due to a team dropping out, Burns High is looking for a team to compete in the Cleveland County Jamboree.

Date is August 16th.

Please contact Coach Devine at ddevine@clevelandcountyschools.org. Opponent, and Scrimmage time can be negotiated. The team will be supplemented financially.

Tomorrow’s Sampson Co. Jamboree will begin my 20th season behind the mic for the Clinton Dark Horses football program. Time has flown by. I’ve met a lot of great coaches, players and fans along the way. Seen so many different HS venues. Made so many friends.
