I remember being excited every week to grab the local newspaper so I could see the new AP Poll that determined who the top teams in the state were. But now, with the Internet, we have people doing different rankings all over the place. Do they still do AP Polls? Even when different rankings started coming out, I still felt like the AP was the true ranking. I know we have Simmons, who does fantastic work, and out of state rankings such as Massey, Max Preps, Cal Preps, and others. Which one of the many do YOU like to use to determine the top 10? Or is using RPI the the best method?

Erwin is playing very good football and surprised many by beating Brevard. They are very big up front and can pass and run the ball. The defense has still not been as good but better than the past few years. West is down a bit but should be a very good game.

Can the Rockets bounce back? Watauga is not as good as East Forsyth but this will be a very tough game. It should be a lot closer than last week but its very difficult to win in Boone.

Another interesting matchup as Mallard Creek will play Grayson. A team from Georgia. Grayson defeated Dorman ( S.C) 53-0 this past week, but struggled their 1st 2 games. This may be very interesting one to watch. Any thoughts?

This week will be the first time in years that I do not travel to the Function at the Junction or Tarboro vs the Other Team Across County Game.
I was planning to go see Round 2 of Southern Alamance vs Southern Nash, but another big rival game caught my eye Hoke County vs 71st.
Can anyone give me some background history of Hoke County, I know a lot about the Falcons, and that program.
