East Surry @ Mount Airy

As to the game, with East having handed Robbinsville a very long ride home, I hope their fans come out in droves Wally Shelton Stadium so Mt Airy can have the kind of gate Mt Airy helped North Surry to have last night. It was not 5000, I am sure, but it was a very good gate.

If the Bears clean up their mental mistakes, improve the passing/route running/catching the ball, and work out the kinks on the offensive and defensive lines, East will not enjoy the short ride home. However,,,,, hope springs eternal for Cardinals.

Davie Co at Mooresville Week 1

Mooresville was super impressive last night, beyond what I think anyone was thinking. Could be a very special year. Brody and his weapons out on a show but that defense was literally lights out.

The only concern that I see is, Davie was just bad. So was it a true test?

Davie has been limping around with kids who would play well and pull things out over the last few yeara. This year they have shown zero development and the defense, who was supposed to be the better of the two, was atrocious. If you looked out there tonight there was ZERO aspect that Davie won or even look competitive in. It’s sad because Davie and its fans have become accustomed and ok with mediocrity.

Imma chill cause it's early. Mentioned this summer Stone was the guy. Better fit especially with the guys coming back and a sr. qb. surprised Hales wouldn't see the senior qb off.

Hackett was the key to Chambers defense. Cannon took over but the defense was never the same.

Lastly Chambers was SUPER talented. no team had that overall talent level that Chambers had. Ferebee is a great coach and will get Butler rolling but it's a definite culture/scheme mismatch.

Rolesville and Weddington are just better than everyone else.

Fo sure. The few bad apples pretty much represent the rest of them. It just doesn't look good at all. Just hope those causing the drama are corrected in place by the mature audience. Was West Cabarrus the only drama you've ever seen in person?

I think Trinity only had 2 first downs before garbage time. The game seemed more lopsided than 43-0

Coleman has taken what Pritchett began building and just continued to improve on it every year. More Brevard athletes are buying in and they’ve always had the athletes. They beat Pisgah at least 9 out 10 this year and we may need help from them to beat them. They are simply bigger, faster, and stronger and just as well, or better, coached than we are. I’d say they are at least 2 scores better than us every night. That will not be the case with the majority of teams we face so that along will make things appear better as the season moves along.

Brevard has a 7v7 and flag football youth program that I've seen at various events throughout the last 4 years. Brevard has alot of ATHLETES. They are not your typical mountain team

Except for maybe the basketball team at some 3A and 4A schools. It generates all the revenue. It should make the decisions. That's our problem in high school football. The only thing he didn't do a good job of was getting rid of those coaches. That were there. Most of them are terrible. But they've been there a long time so I guess you can't fire them. Which is the problem. That's cool we used to win on toughness alone. And everyone wanted to come there. it's a joke athletically. Soccer taking center stage. The best coach in that school is the volleyball coach. He's the meanest SOB they got. He breeds toughness. Great observation on the game. Although North Wilkes does have a pretty damn good football coach. I believe he won a state championship when he was in Greenville. Athletic director has nothing to do with it. Maybe they're thinking is let's build this program back athletically. Let's start at the bottom. Let's make people tough.

Do you know what all is required from an athletic director? The amount of paperwork that must be done? The fact you have to manage other sports than just football?

The only short sightedness is your lack of a critical thought process.
