Am I seeing this correctly? Reynolds/Dudley

Guilford Co does not have open enrollment
Every county is open enrollment now. We don't have the courage to tell kids no and have them struggle through anything. The grass is always greener and there is always a gate open somewhere. It's the world we live in and it's only going to get worse with college athletes setting the example.

Burns @ Monroe

Burns needs to slow the game down and make it a physical smash mouth type of game. 3-4yds a play and drain the clock. Burns will probably need to take some chances on 4th down when it’s 4th and short anywhere on Monroe’s side of the 50. Get the game into the 4th qtr and start going play action. Burns needs to have a counter to Monroe stacking the box to stop the running game.
Spot on and agree completely.

Forbush HFC vacancy

Tough school to have all that much success at and has pretty much always been the Yadkin Co. little brother to Starmount. Not sure when Forbush last had a very successful season - meaning they won at least a couple of playoff games.

The spring of 2020 they went 6-1 (losing in first round) and in 2021, they beat North Surry in the first round . Before that it looks like 2004 was the last time they won a playoff game (but then lost in 2nd round).

Tried to do some digging so I may have missed a year but it looks like besides what is above, they won first round playoffs in 2003 & 1992, but lost in the second round each time. So it looks like they have only won a couple first round playoff games and never been past the second round.

If West Charlotte was moved to 8a today how are they in 3a now?!?!

You do have to factor in free and reduce lunches and the Wachovia points ,when you are looking at schools that were near the cut-off line between classifications. I can't remember the exact number but I believe WC(1600s) had around 200 more than the 2 Asheville schools(1400s). If the 'clauses' didnt play a factor in it, how did the lesser student schools end up 4a and the bigger enrollment school 3a?

Definitely nothing against WC. Love the new campus and hope it blossoms. It will continue to grow also with the programs they offer. Just talking straight numbers here.
They had 3A numbers. WC would have preferred to stay 4A as most charlotte schools were 4A. They will be ok in 8A for football and it will help their basketball programs greatly. Actually 8A will be relatively easier than 4A or the old 4AA

Yall need to stop with the free reduced lunch stuff. WC had around 1200 to 1400 students for most of the recent realignment periods. It had nothing to do with free/reduced lunch or Wachovia simply admin numbers. WC has been high low income since 1999 and they were 4A. They also had a new school built and their enrollment was capped for a few years. Since the opening of the new school their enrollment has grown tremendously the last 3 years. They also got 3 middle schools feeding them now. With the addition of another southern school it added students to WC to relieve crowding at the suburban schools.

-No one had any sympathy for WC when they played 4A with low 3A numbers for years. Besides football all the other sports have suffered being in 3A.
