Function at the Junction

It is not the Function at the Junction when it's at Tarboro. It's the Function at the Junction when it's at SWE. There used to be a 5 way intersection right by SWE known as The Junction. So when the game is at the literal junction, it's The Function at the Junction.
When it's at Tarboro, the Tarboro folks call it the game vs TTACT. (That Team Across The County)

The name comes from what used to be a 5 way intersection about a mile away from Southwest edgecombe. It is now a 4 way intersection and has been for a long time. It's a good thing honestly had a lot of bad wrecks at that old 5 way intersection. It's only called the function at the junction when the game is at Southwest I guess the news thought it'd be a good idea to make it the function at the junction whenever these two play.

For as long as I remember going to the annual game, it has always been called Function at the Junction unless you are in Tarboro, where they have dubbed it another nickname. I spoke to a small group of Watauga players after the game. The biggest one (6'4" 240-ish lineman) said, "I don't know how we won this game, everything went our way. I really didn't think we were going to win after the 1st quarter."

We were in a great spot to win. Too many turnovers and allowing the occasional big play got us. We'll be hell from here on out.

I think we could be the strongest defense in the cvac and probably the best offensive line by the time cvac is finished
