Old man watching NFHSnetwork. I'll jump from game to game!
Happy Thanksgiving MP. Keep us updated on the score of the KM game tomorrow night.I think OUR SC COACH did a pretty good job at BOILING SPRINGS a few WEEKS AGO. YOU must have FORGOTTEN.
Thank you it's always been interesting to read what you and Chute have to say. 1a has been fun to keep up with last few years. Happy Thanksgiving to everyoneI figured you would take it the way I intended. And you have always been an interesting, to me anyway, poster. Without bias of any sort but simply an observer of high school football, as well as other sports. In other words, me 😂😂😂
Ok I’m just a little biased 🤷♂️

Two teams have hoops season
Wonder how long Binky keeps paying the high priced SC coach to keep losing early in playoffs?
Young Mounties will be back , a lot of 7th graders coming up next season
It really is a miracle we are getting to play. Erwin had a lot of damage in the French Broad river area and Heritage was devastated county wide. It's funny though that schools in the far west like Murphy and Robbinsville were barely touched at all. I would guess there are kids on heritage that lost homes and even loved ones. There is a lot to be thankful about today! After Helene came through and cause the damage that it did I was very surprised that some of the mountains schools was even able to continue their sports. But yes it’s amazing to know that Erwin and Heritage is still in it playing football. Even some of the Asheville schools had good year in soccer as well.
I was more or less talking about their conference. Obviously those are very strong teams but I think this team could go toe to toe with any of those teams. So u think CSD. Is better then Crest. KM and ACR...?
Dont think so bud....

But yes it’s amazing to know that Erwin and Heritage is still in it playing football. Even some of the Asheville schools had good year in soccer as well.I know this is an older post but we are still living it up here in the mountains. Hurricane Helene is by far the worst to ever hit NC. Hazel caused 19 deaths and 974 million(adjusted) in damage. In NC Helene has caused 103 deaths and 53 billion. Both of these numbers will rise too. It's still blows my mind to see the damage every day going to work in Asheville. It's become kind of normal but it will never be normal. The fact that teams like Erwin and Heritage are even playing football still is pretty darn cool.

I think you guys have their best chance yet to represent the West. No clear cut favorite this year. Could be upsets this round
I agree. This year's Erwin team is a little different because we do throw the ball a lot but we also have a really good running back when he's not hurt.We are on the same page. ACR and Asheville have shown some success in the spread as well but it’s when you run up against those teams that are equal or more talented that it doesn’t go well. I think the South Point reference is what I am talking about though. If you can play a different style(which calls for an entirely different week of practice and installation of a whole new defense for your opponent) then you have an advantage. Then if you execute it with discipline and have minimal mistakes then you likely win.
It's almost impossible to stop when done right.South Point runs the triple option as most of know. They do this because they don't have the size or speed to match up with the majority of our competition. Yet they have multiple championships with this talent. What they do they do well. If they ran from the spread they could not compete.
Looks like EW has a good all around team. This may be the round for upsetsThis thread has covered every school in the state I believe, lol.
As for all the comments about different topics, personally I don't believe EW has a big line, nor do I believe they have speed(#3 is fastest). We just have kids in the skill positions that love to hit and fight for every extra yard they can get (especially #10, QB)
Yup - I think we are the best team Shelby has seen all year as well. We love smash mouth football and welcome the physicality. I think if we can play like we have the last 3 weeks - there will be a lot of surprised Shelby fans. I think it’s a good game either way and looking forward to it.One key factor, CSD. Plays lots kids both ways, Shelby needs to come out and play smash mouth against them and pound football...with mixes of throws
Wear some these kids out early.
I promise this will be best front 7 there offense has seen.
We cant be committing turnovers.or all those pentlys..

I don’t know if you have noticed, but I occasionally play the “don’t forget about ER” card for effects sake…
Sometimes it works well, sometimes not 🤷♂️
Also wouldn’t MH be at home anyway the following week no matter the outcome of Starmount/Mt Airy game?
The only game that the outcome of Starmount/Mt Airy would have an immediate effect on would be the next week against winner of ER/Corvian…
And that’s how I would have played the card if our conversation had continued 😂😂
