Corvian Qb is going to Hampton next year. Cam Johnson #10 is a quick back and Noah best can fly and you dont kick off to him. I seen ER had 4 turnovers in the 1st half including a pick 6 and fumble on Corvian 21. Neithe team scored in the 4th and was 13-6 at the half.

Let me put my 2 cents in...LOL! Both teams are having a great year. Unfortunately, this game will come down to defense and I just don't see East Forsyth winning this unless something the football Gods touch them. Lets look at the match up. East Forsyth can score and I think we can all agree with that. The X-factor will come down to key match ups. East don't really have a great WR crew. The JP kid is their offense! Weddington probably do the best of any team that I have seen this year scheming up their opponent. This will play cover 4 and bring pressure when needed. They are good enough up front which will be the down fall for East Forsyth. Baker is a difference maker but they will need the defense to stop Weddington and I think Weddington can stop East more times. My final score 42- 21. Weddington will be up big before the 4th.

(1) Seed all 1st place automatic berths by RPI rating (or other NCHSAA selected ranking system).NOTE: The highest finishing team in its half of a split conference must finish in 1st, 2nd, or3rd place overall or have an overall winning percentage of .500 or higher in order to be seeded as a #1. Otherwise, the team will be seeded with all other at-large teams.
2. (2) Seed all 2nd place automatic berths or conference tournament champions and at-large berthsby RPI rating (or other NCHSAA selected ranking system).(c) Once seeding is complete:
   1. (1) Existing byes will be awarded to the highest seeds possible.
   2. (2) The higher seed is the home team unless otherwise determined by the NCHSAA.

Tie breaker procedure is a lot longer so here is a link to the handbook. It starts on page 73, section 4.1.11.

My Opinion. Great thing is everyone can have theirs and the boys can play Friday night and settle it.

I had the best seat in the house for a lot of the games last year (In the Press Box announcing 6 of them) Howdy Goobs! I hear you liked my announcing.
Northeastern is a very deep team this year. They have always been explosive on offense. They can score in a blink of time. They run a spread offense as explosive as any program in the state of NC.
The difference this year is that the Eagles are very stout on defense. I know the boys are feeling that this year is the year all the jigsaw pieces have come together for Coach Moore. He has these boys believing in themselves and that is the key here. They wont step on the field with anyone that they dont feel they are favored to beat. Attitude and confidence is key. They have the tools and are prepared to chase that ring for this coaching staff.

James Kenan is an exceptional program that can play competitive football. They pound the rock and that can work on NHS and its defense in the past (Look at the success North Johnston and Princeton had last year pounding the line of scrimmage with the run game in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs) They can win a tight game. Ask Whiteville and Wallace about that. Defense classically wins championships. They want the game close, they want to punch you in the mouth.

James Kenan just hasn't seen an offense this explosive yet this year. They can want a competitive game, but it is hard to punch your opponent in the mouth when they are 15 yards down field streaking for a catch.
Its gonna be close but JK is gonna wanna grind and NHS wants to sprint. Let Jones and his offense cook ( to quote the kids) and the Eagles will take this one by 2 Scores.

My prediction is NHS 34 JK 21

Playoff seeding is done by RPI. All conference winners are seeded based on RPI and then all other qualifiers are seeded based on RPI. The only time there is a draw is if there is a tie in RPI and all the tiebreaker steps are used and doesn't break the tie. After that they would draw.

I think any team that beats KM that bad is more than decent. This is why I wish they would’ve gotten another draw so they could show how good they are or could be potentially still playing. Dudley is just a bad match up for Robinson.

Match ups. They just beat a team on the road who put up 41 on Kings Mountain and Kings Mountain beat Crest. I don’t think any of it will matter Friday between WC and Dudley.

Very emotional post you got there, we all have observations of what we see in matchups. I believe Weddington's bracket was very favorable for them, but will work against them against stiffer competition, which is coming. They'll just start basketball season later than others. I don't see their offense as electric. Competition matters. Huge props to JH Rose who's 5-8 and still playing. I'm confident they've exceeded their expectations.

No, Grimsley was not handed a gift, and you shouldn't be critiquing their players, if you're not including Weddington in that conversation. They definitely got some gifts.

I have no clue what the Hickory, Kansas City Chiefs analogy had to do with having an easy bracket. WTH is that all about?

Shelby has a rich tradition and a tremendous community following. Not just talking about game attendance, but the championship fabric that lives 365 days per year. I have always been impressed with their discipline and unselfish team first attitude. I think coach Wilbanks has done an incredible job and this Monroe contest should be a thriller to watch.

Looking at the regular season schedules, you have to give
Northeastern credit for 2 decisive wins against 3A opponents Rocky Mount and Greenville Rose.

I would say James Kenan’s wins over Whiteville and. Wallace Rose Hill are solid. A win over East Duplin this year doesn’t carry as much weight as it normally would.

I have already said I hope James Kenan wins but I believe Northeastern should be favored. If JK starts out slow and gets behind a couple of scores it could get out of hand.

Goobs has taken a lot of heat over the years for his optimism. He never fails to call it like he thinks it will be and more than a few times he has been wrong but he keeps supporting his Eagles.

I will say this, when fans start talking amongst themselves they can over inflate certain aspects of their team’s performance and begin to believe their team is better than they really are. Nothing wrong with that, but there may be a day of reckoning- when they step off the bus and catch one in the mouth. I prefer to walk and talk softly, even when my team is having a good year. Some posters don’t and that’s cool because what a boring place it would be if we were all the same.

I think these boards are better when any personal insults/posts are never sent.

My plan for Friday is to be heading home from the deer woods ready to follow all of these games. Such an exciting time of the year.

Lets put an end to this discussion of who’s team played more comp. We’ll go week by week non conference and then compare the conferences.

Week 1 JK played swansboro and NE played Bertie, it’s fair to say SB nor Bertie are

Competitive teams but Bertie was the “tougher” opponent

Week 2 JK played Midway and NE played J.H Rose. Midway came second in their conference and finished the season with and 8-2 regular season record. J.H Rose finished 2-8 and didn’t do anything in their conference. However Roses conferences is probably the toughest conference in 3A, Rose is def the tougher opponent.

Week 3 JK v Whiteville and NE v Rocky mount. Whiteville is in the fourth round won their conference and is a top contender in the playoffs. RM finished 7-5 on the season and were an average 3A team. Whiteville is the better team.

Week 4 JK v East blades and NE v First flight. Not going into detail for this one we all know East bladen is the tougher opponent.

Week 5 JK V ED NE v Holmes. Another one where I’m not going into detail, even tho ED is down their still better than Holmes.

Week 6 JK v south lenior and NE v Hertford. Both teams are pushovers but south lenior is even more of a push over. Hertford is tougher

That leaves us at 3-3

For the sake of my time the remaining weeks JK played SWO, NL, Kinston, and WRH. NE played Camden county, Manteo, C. County and P. County. Let’s be very very realistic here any of the 4 teams remaining in JK conference play wipe the remaining of NE conference play.

Leaving us 7-3 in the battle of “tougher opponents” despite the weak schedule NE is a force to be reckoned with, their good no doubt. But their hardly tested. Jk has shown heart in 4 different tooth and nail dog fights this season. I don’t want to take anything away from NE, nobody does, we don’t deny NE is a great team. And I myself am not taking personal shots at anyone, Goob has been talking down on JK as if they don’t have good history. And take away the history this season alone they’ve proven that their not a team to be talked down on. Goob says he wanted the bulldogs instead of the tigers because he wants his rematch 🤣🤣🤣 keep ur coping to urself, you wanted the bulldogs because you know they were an easier opponent than the tigers. Even tho WRH beat JK once I still think JK is the better team, the JK players just seem to feel the pressure a whole lot when playing the dogs and it gets to them.



Now to finish my yapping session, I respect NE and I admire the fan that goob is. I don’t respect the constant belittling of James kenan from him and I really hope they go knock the hate out his mouth this Friday. This game is going to be a good one, no doubt. But every JK poster has given NE their props when making their predictions, while everyone rooting against JK has been very negative when speaking abt JK which is why we are a little jumpy regardless, best of luck to both teams.
