If it's about not winning, every team can go dry at any time and pick back up later(2,3yrs). A coach always has to depend on the athlete population to keep coming through. If he doesnt have that, his experience wont make much of a difference. Like I said I dont know nothing about the matter but I hope the program, coach and his family the best in the final verdict.[/Q
+1, S2V, you and I have not shared a whole lot of common ground. But the post above hits the nail on the head. I am speaking from experience, say you do make a coaching change and the next guy does no better, because the talent level is just not there, then what? As we found out in the late 90's and early 2000's having a killer middle school team and usually dominate jv program is just that. Sometimes between those two groups and varsity all of a sudden the other schools with late developing talent have caught up and first thing we say it has to be the coaching. Maybe, maybe not, usually superior talent will win in spite of the coaching. Coaching will take them to that next level, or win you that game IMO when the talent level is equal. Just saying, be careful what you ask for, sometimes when you think you have hit bottom, think again!! No matter which route you take , there are going to be pissed off people. Just remember its always about the kids. Not the fans, boosters, administration. THE KIDS!!!! They watch everything we do!!! We are teaching them their life skills, lets make sure we keep it always about them. Good luck to both teams, and I know without a doubt South will rise again. But like I said need to make sure you do it the right way because as we learned the hard way the rock bottom is a very ugly place. This is just my opinion, but we did become spoiled when times were good and lost focus on what it takes to get there and stay there.
