@amaidendevil how many kids are you guessing for workouts tomorrow? First couple of weeks are usually the most....
Hard to tell with these kids and AAU ball and travel/legion baseball but I'd expect in the 60-70 range
I’m just trying to catch up on this thread, and I usually pride myself on understanding humor… but please explain why the speed of newtons turf going in is funny? Is it because maidens turf was installed so quickly😂
It really don't matter honestly just means we're going to keep beating them on a fancier field 🤣.
And if it wasn't for NC crying and going to the school board saying it wasn't fair we would have turf and ours would have been paid by no tax money whatsoever. We had it funded without a cent of tax money.
I personally like playing on grass better so the fancier field may be yours. The cost of turf might be greater but fancy is a preference. With Newton on turf, north Lincoln on turf, hickory on turf, west Iredell on turf and east on turf… that leaves maiden, Foard, Bandys and bunker hill on the fancy stuff.
Guess it depends on who buys into speed likes turf. And grass is nice until it turns brown or it's been raining all week and your playing the mud bowl. But I guess that's why we tarp the field. I do believe y'all had an advantage on your old field 😂 whether it was a swamp game lol or that high crown u can't see over in the middle 🤣.
Shelby has been blessed to play a whole lot of games on a brown field.

I think the advantage was our jimmies and joes not the crown, but I could be mistaken. Speaking of crowns I can remember destroying the maiden lowlands during a JV game a number of years back. I think the blue devil swamp had a hard time coming back that year. You might of even had to play at the old field for a game… I can’t remember exactly. So I will officially switch my vote to turf over natural grass. I forgot how awful it was worrying about rain and drainage

Never will it be an insult to play at the old field I'd actually love to still play at the old tom brown stadium. Magic in that stadium and atmosphere was amazing and intimidating. Lol I will give u some credit for your banter on here in regards to your position 🤣👏. I actually like the style lol
Catawba county budget was approved with 4 million cut from NC high school construction I wonder what gets cut out ?

I’ve never shied away from posting because of my position. Ask Will… I just like to have fun whether it’s on the field or off. I’ve got the greatest job in the world, I try not to forget that.
With that being said I am excited for this new conference… lots of Blue to hate, keeping the yellow tornadoes in the league is a good bonus too! I’m excited for it! FYI yellow tornadoes is not a jab, their tornado in the middle of the field is yellow.
@dplubo I am happy for the new conference as well, a lot of passionate posters but at the end of the day, it is just a sport.
Sure can't wait for official practices though. Hopefully workouts are going well for each team

This is going to be a fun conference to follow. I can feel it in my bones. lol. But seriously I can see lot of good competition in the Western Foothills. Can’t wait until the season starts.

MIC has a crazy conference just like Lincolnton’s and West Lincoln’s….heck…I’d say it is worse. They play everybody on the other side of Mecklenburg county.

Would have to check with the Duck but I’m thinking that gold might have been one of their original colors when they took the name Red Tornadoes.

I saw posted there’s a 7 on 7 with East Burke and North Lincoln tomorrow. This will mark the first that these 2 met on field and will complete the circle- that being EB has played every Lincoln co school except them. I know 7 on 7 don’t count much but hey, good test for the skill set players.

Bandys, East, and Foard are in Draughns 7 on 7. If anyone goes, let us know how they look
I'll probably go next Tuesday to Maiden 7 on 7 against South Caldwell
If I ranked them I'd say East, Bandys then Foard which was probably expected. Not sure what the scores were though.
I think East Lincoln won. Bandys did well. Fred T Foard did surprisingly good. Hibriten did ok. I think Burns struggled from what I saw. I don't think Draughn did that well either. Huss looked good from seeing them once.
Hickory was able to enjoy to enjoy this invitation along with Monroe, Chambers and Westside High School yesterday in Charlotte.
Maiden 7on7 vs SCaldwell today has been postponed to a later date due to baseball players for SCaldwell still doing stuff.
Instead, this morning Maiden will be heading to Gaffney for a 7on7 along with Shelby, Hunter Huss, and 2 other SC schools.
