Dudley's all 4 WRs and 2 RBs along with the Defense was Juniors too. You beat Dudley by 1 pts, because of a missed extra point and 2 pts conversion that fell 3 inches short. Also Dudley missed a wide open WR right before Halftime by a foot. Dudley was at Hickory's 35 yard line on that 4th and 4 when the QB decided to throw the ball instead of running with 9 yards of space ahead of him. So don't act like Dudley didn't give you all the game with mistakes. Hickory had to hold on to the ball and use clock because Dudley was scoring and responding to Hickory. Hickory defense was soft last year and they are soft this year. Outside of East Lincoln, N. Lincoln and Statesville the rest of that conference is below 500. Hickory non conference opp was worst. At least Dudley played 4a Teams that made good showings in the playoffs. Page and Southeast Guilford are in the same conference with Grimsley, Northern and NW Guilford and they played them tough. Who did Hickory play, oh 2a schools. When was the last time Hickory traveled outside their area code to play a team? You won't play Watauga or any Winston Salem or Charlotte Schools. Nobody before 2023 heard of Hickory because they have been below 500 the last 12 years before that and haven't made the Championship since when 1996. After tonight it will be another 20 years before they are mentioned again. Hickory and Dudley strength of schedule was almost the same, lol!!!! But Dudley scrimmage Mallard Creek, Chambers and W-S Mount Tabor, plays 4A Schools in Durham Hillside who made it to the 3rd round before losing to Cardinal Gibbons and Page and SE.....When will Hickory do the same???? Place Hickory in the Conference with West Charlotte and they play HOUGH {LOSS}, MALLARD CREEK {LOSS} or play INDEPENDENCE like WC did last year {loss} OR CHAMBERS {LOSS}

Dudley loss 42-41, but they blew 3 possible TDS in that game plus a missed extra point and 2 pts conversion. Dudley had the ball at the Hickory 7 yrd line with 6 ecs left, Newkirk faked out the Hickory DB and went left wide open. The QB threw a rocket for some reason and Newkirk couldn't catch it. Neely had his made beat in a one on one match up down the field and over threw it ball 2 yrds. RB Jaylen Brown had his man beat by 8 yards at the 5 yard line on that final drive and the QB over threw it by 1 yrd with 47 secs left. Dudley left 21 pts off the boards and that score could have been 60 something to 42 Dudley. Everyone knew you guys ran slants when Dudley DBs crept up and then ran Lackey when Dudley was in Cover two........lmbo!!!

I guess this game is gonna go like this. WC offsides opening kick, have guys moving every play with no flags thrown . Football officials have gotten bad….but how in this game (at this stage….semifinals) is this allowed? 7 minutes to go in first qtr….i know it’ll only get worse.
