Boy aren't you a hero? Took you long enough to come up with a garbage of a thread on this 1. Starting a thread on this game is bout as smart as saying kids gonna be black and blue! Moron! Go find some class!

WC gave EB 4 of those scores with 2 pick 6, another int returned inside the 10, and a muffed KO return. Lack of numbers is a understatement. Most of the skilled players are playing both ways with little to no subs.
Got to get a couple players some discipline. Gonna be a long season for WC. I just hope HHS coaches have some class about this and dont run it up real bad. Already a bad situation on that side of the county.
Hope they have the sense to pull starters and not risk injuries.
Dont think clay would let it get to 50, if the west kids quit playing then clay cant control that. I just hope the personal fouls dont get out of hand, this game doesnt mean what it once did. As far as class from the hhs coaches i dont think they have anything to prove to anyone about having class, best group of coaches around in my opinion.
can you read at all? I said I think the game will be 42-0 at half and will finish that way. I will not be disappointed if they don't score 50 b/c I honestly do not think they will simply b/c Coach Lewis will not run up the score. You are a block headed fool.
Used to be a classy game but once I saw this thread I knew it would be a talk about class or humiliation and/or how not to run up a score etc. Gee Wiitherspoon will play only because it’s a historical traditional kinda game and his last against a county rival. Can’t take that away from the kid but I can’t see him on the feild past 7:00 min left in first quarter. After the 1st quarter I’d let the JVs play or something. Not saying that at all to humiliate anyone and besides the JVs won’t have a game the night before and most if not all won’t be 8 quartered.
I don’t know what last weeks game showed as far as East Burke having any hope of a better season this year, they could be better and win a few more games or they’re in bad shape too and it showed that West is in a super bad way this year. EB had 2 wins last year and their JVs maybe had 1 if I’m not mistaken so I’m not expecting much at Icard this year however the Childers boys seem to show improvement and mean business.

The JV team is traveling to McDowell on Thursday so won’t be able to go more then what Panthers have on the roster.
I was thinking the same thing @Burkeforreal when I thought they wouldn’t play Thursday.. If I had a voice I wouldn’t have worried about finding another opponent for Thursday and just dress everyone on Friday and let the freshman and sophomores on JV experience a Varsity game to prepare them for next year

HHS coaches are top notch imo! I have a freshman kid on WC team. Would like for him to be at HHS but it is what it is.
Just hope we dont stink it up as bad as last week at least. Situations like this, expect the worse, take anything better without injuries.

Prob be the lowest black n blue gate sale ever. A lot of fans that you’ll definitely see at the playoffs will most likely not show up at this one. I could be wrong but when a game is too predictable, sales can be low.

Come on guys! No need for the name calling. Hibriten will most likely score 56. The starters will be out by half. The second string of Hibriten will obviously try to score to have stats. I may be wrong about the starters. They may pull them before half. Last year they let them play until the half against ashe and it was fugly.! It was 35-0 at half I think. They let Gee run 1or 2 times in the 3rd quarter because he had very little yards. He ran an 85 yarder or so and that was it for him. I feel sorry for West this year. A friend told me today that they are 50 students away from 1A. Poor guys are stuck in 3A until next year. No JV squad. They are in a bad way and I know Clay will go as easy as possible but those backup players may score instead of run out of bounds or slide down. I say 56-0 and I was close on last weeks game for Hibriten if ya look at Robinson vs Hibriten. I gave Robinson a little more credit then our defense and thought they may get 14. 56-0 and that's final, haha.
The players don't pick the schedule. If I remember correctly I heard the same talk last year. How did that turn out when we played the "TOUGHEST" opponents? Don't fret, you all will have your chance again this year.
It’s a weak conf when it comes to football yes. Everything else it’s win some lose some in the other sports for Hibriten. Not like Watauga was in the 90s in the NW 4a. They won at about everything but Football. I love the way it’s set up to be honest. Every team in this conf is less than an hr from each other.

I know the conference is weaker in football. It does have the #1 ranked team in it. I guess the shelby guy is just upset about last season 
Robinson is not in the conference but dang long drive. I had back surgery in 2014 and reinjured it again this year. I drove there and had to leave at halftime due to my back. I am glad the conference games are much closer. Ashe is a bit of a ride but luckily they come here this year.

Well Blue I was talking bout the conference schools in general and not the non conference and how the proximity of each of them is but I see what your saying. The most distance between 2 schools in this conf is prob Patton to Hibriten or Patton to West Iredell. Which Patton is right off an interstate and so is WI kinda sorta so that’s 50 to 55 min by bus. I figure one school from another at best is 1 hr by bus. That’s why it needs to stay that way IMO. All the Shelby area schools are close to each other as well. Good set up.
Non conf games could be any distance but I’m sure ADs like to keep it under 2 hours or 3 at the absolute. Playoffs a different animal ha ha. I mean come on, Franklin kids prob wouldn’t even finish their first class of a morning til it be time to load the bus. Murphy would just show up in the morning just to get uniform loaded up and get ON the bus...depending on who out East they have to travel to in playoffs if they were lower seed. They played Maiden quiet a bit back in the 1A days.
People may complain bout Hibritens weak conference and other schools may be butt hurt to have to play them but hey, is Hibriten gonna stay dominate 3 4 5 years from now or longer and rule the area like Mallard Creek and Catholic does Charlotte? It’s real hard to say, especially since they been low for a couple years after a soild class graduates and leaves. Prime example is 2009- 10’ then in 11’ they completely fell off and had to rebuild.
Who is to say West Iredell won’t take over in a year or 2? Monte Simmons seems to have something brewing down that way and I’d expect them to finish top three every year starting this year and on. They got the kids in the hall that can prob do it and players that in open space with the ball would make even the best Hibriten D backfield nervous.

They shoulda never built Draughn and Patton. Although Freedom was overcrowded and EB was sorta ok but kinda crowded it was good to take the load off but my suggestion woulda bee just ONE more school in Burke and placed it out on 18 past Sagebrush somewhere up there but no further out than a mile past Sagebrush and Waffle House. That woulda taken the Salem kids and the Drexel kids and bits of Valdese. All 3A schools.
Combine EB and Draughn it’d be old EB again and just be a weak 4A school sorta like South has been football and basketball wise.
A combined Lenior school, that would be interesting if the numbers are that low. Not sure what they’d do with Hibriten and West at that point. Be a new middle school at West and the current middle school a rev center or retirement home. They made use of the 3 old Ashe county schools when they made Ashe co.
pats i like the way you think, been thinking that for years. However not going to happen i dont think. Could have used the high schools as middle schools built one new high school somewhere close to downtown lenoir. Traffic in and out would be terrible, but awesome atmosphere to watch a game in downtown lenoir, like close to old lenoir high stadium.
Hey Beamer, do you know what Gee stats for the night. I left before half. I couldn't watch that massacre any longer. Hibriten was hitting those west players so hard they got up looking out the ear hole.
He might of had 6 carries maybe... Scored 1 TD, 50 yards maybe... Panthers had 7 different players score and a few more that got carries
