Weddington vs Westside (#1 4A SC)

I know the players that transferred from Byrnes to Westside this past offseason so I’m excited to see this one. It’s at Weddington so hopefully I’m able to go.

Texas is probably got the best high school football honestly. It used to be Florida but Florida apparently doesn't pay anything. I got buddies that live there and they say the cost of living is high and the teachers don't get paid anything. Georgia has really good football and facilities

Quality of teams in Florida have taken a dip bc of cost of living (especially in south Florida where it’s very expensive to live and where the best talent still resides) not correlating with the low pay as well. Saying that, if you are a college coach there is still no place like Dade, broward, and palm beach county to recruit WRs, RBs, and all 3 levels of your defense.

Texas and GA have your entire package though I agree. They have good teams, great talent, and good coaching that pays to attract those high level coaches.

Creek played them in Championship game 7v7 at UNCC. They are loaded with skill guys, not sure how their bigs look.

I didn't realize it, but Butler finished with almost 500 yards offense against Weddington, with 478 total yards.
Hence why I am leaning Westside. To be fair to Weddington I think the change of QB threw them off balance. With Lawerence there was no real threat for him to pull the ball and run so they knew for the most part Lawerence was passing the ball. When the backup came in, he was able to keep the ball and run depending on what the defense was showing and he is fast. He was able to hit a deep touchdown pass because of the defense got caught peeking.

Weddington wasn’t a very fast team. Irmo and Rolesville had better team speed. I can see Weddington having issues covering. Weddington was very methodical on offense no big plays. I think they could be in trouble of Westside jumps to a big lead.

I didn’t really realize Butler had that many yards ! They did have several big plays. The game turned on the last drive of first half for Butler . They really did control from that point on. Team speed has never been our strong point. We have a fast guy here and there . We can and have been successful without team speed. Coaches will have the team ready. You are right we are methodical on offense this year. All this without RB1. Looking forward to this game and the rest of the season.

That we've all seen this movie before. Weddington doesn't have enough athletes.... Not fast enough.... you remember how this thing ends...
