WC vs 71st 3a Title

Top 10 in 4A? These two teams? Not even close
4A is top heavy. There are only four 4A teams that will take these two 3A teams without much argument. Grimsley, Hough, Rolesville, and Weddington. East Forsyth, Indy and Cardinal Gibbons would be toss ups but I would lean WC over Indy. WC already beat Mallard Creek this season and both these 3A teams would absolutely beat Mooresville, Cleveland, Clayton, Mt. Tabor, and Richmond. Like I said both teams would be top ten 4A.

I agree with most of what you posted, however MC beat WC this year 14 to 12. WC did beat MC last year though.

Congrats to WC! They played great and shut down 71st mighty rushing attack. I was pulling for 71st but it wasn't meant to be. I don't know if there will ever be another title brought back to The Ville. In the new realignment I believe it will be even harder to break the cycle of Charlotte winning championships.

6A looks winnable, especially compared to 7A, no one really stands out as a top team imo. Especially the way the top teams in 7&8 stand out.

Side note but I sure hope Nance can recover quickly enough to join the already ongoing 71st basketball season. He has now played in 4 state championship games ( 2 in football, 2 in basketball) but lost all 4. Would love to see him go out with a state title in basketball this year.

One thing for sure, it won't be West Charlotte they'll play against if they get there in basketball. Our basketball team is horrific. They may not get to double digit wins this season.

Anyone know exactly what was wrong with his knee?

whats in store for this basketball season .... gonna try out the wheelchair basketball league?
Basketball program regression will definitely need to be addressed sooner rather than later. We definitely can't afford to allow it to go on a nearly 20 year nosedive like the football program.
Fingers crossed 🤞🏽

How far do your ties go back to West Charlotte? Do you recall when West Charlotte basketball played Ashbrook and James Worthy in the first round of the 1979 state basketball tournament at the Charlotte Coliseum?

I am getting old lol. The last two MC/WC games are running together in my head but regardless they were both close competitive games and my main point stands😊.
3 out of 15 since 2007 for the Lions. They might be on to something.
