Now that we know the games at BofA, now at least I know our Weddington game will be at Memorial
"Keep Pounding Classic" Friday, August 22, at BOA Stadium.
Game 1 at 4 PM Hough vs South Pointe (Rock Hill, SC); Game 2 at 8 PM West Charlotte vs Grimsley.
General Admission $8.00 per game.

Yes. Probably moved to Friday for Grimsley/South Pointe fans to travel a little easier.
21 out of 22 starters are back for West Charlotte.
The last time Grimsley didn’t have a feature 2000 yard back since 2018 was the shortened Pandemic year
Think they may lose a tad bit more but definitely bring back a ton. Losing Pee Wee Jones, Collins, and Jamari in the secondary and Wilson on the oline amd turner at RB. though McClain passed him on depth chart during the playoffs. Lose the kicker Deng too.
But bring back Davion Jones, KD Cotton, Finch, Nicholson, McClain and qb Jamouri Nichols on offense. Not to mention adding Gilmore from NM. Defense is gonna be flat out nasty with Fats, Sam Johnson, Epps, Arrington and brining back Littlejohn. LBS are rock solid with Mike Griffin and Jamil Watson. They will be much better than last year personnel wise. Have some good DBS too. Spring ball will be VERY interesting

I just think Grimsley is the favorite in 7A while West clt could be the favorite in 8a but I believe Grimsley has more overall big time talent so i think WC will be the underdog here. I just think Grimsley will pull away in this game but I would love to see WC WIN HERE but they have one of IF not the hardest schedules in NC

Given WC schedule they really feel they have a GREAT team coming back. Don't think I've ever seen a schedule this difficult in NC history.

21 returning starters, plus a 5 🌟 edge rusher returning to WC after being recruited away by CLT Christian and a 4 🌟 star 6'4 185lb defensive back / wide receiver who transferred in.
This will probably be the most talented football team WC has had since the mid 90's and could quite possibly be the most talented team in school history.
6'4 185 DB/WR Xavier Porter coming over from West MECK was added as well.
Yeah I know their defense will be loaded and is stout but that offense was terrible. They’ll need to move the ball and score a lot to beat Grimsley
Yessir. That's why preference that the depth chart had updated some. They played a ton of underclassmen
Mentioned that in another post. The similarities between 95/24 WC. 95 won the ship but was not as talented IMHO than 93 or 96/97. 24 wins the ship but 25/26 could be much much better than 24. The talent level in the 27/28/29 classes is incredibly good.

Grimsley may well be the favorites but I’m thinking early season this game might be closer than expected. From what I’m reading West Charlotte has good talent coming back and could keep it interesting. But I could well eat crow on this. lol
Thinking close game too. Remember folks thought WC would possibly lose to Ervin and definitely lose to Dudley or Hickory. They dominated them both on the road. By this being week 1 gives WC a better chance as they will gameplan all summer and be focused on Grimesley.
