cant really say much more that we were just simply out classed tonight. Came out flat. No energy. Classic hangover from an emotionally charged game from last week. Injuries are really starting to pile up and effect us. But all in all... if you told me before the season we would have been 5-2 in the first 7 games... I wouldn’t hve believed you. Just gotta regroup and get after Lake Norman next week.

Looked pretty good mooresville scored off of a blown coverage assignment, and against 2nd team special teams, scored against 2nd team defense when 2nd string offense fumbled the snap smh.

Our injuries are really piling up now. 4 starters out tonight, I think we lost a 5th starter on the final play of the game. 4 of the 5 all on the offensive side of the ball. Credit to those Vance guys, y’all played with the energy like it was a big game. Wish we had given y’all a better game. Best of luck to vance down the stretch. Y’all are a team that will make a deep run... no doubt about it.

Last night I felt like the parent that would always say “I’m not mad, I’m just very disappointed” lol. I didn’t expect much of a result- I just thought we were sluggish right off the bus and mentally folded when it got tough.

I liked the initial gameplan of loading the box n stopping the run but unlike Hough OUR QB CAN THROW...so loading the box only creates isolation on the backend n he had like 5 or 6 TD passes. I do think were a establish the run team but if ur going 2 leave the backend open well let's take shots. Like I said the o line is the only thing I'm vested in...so it's going 2 b a long week of practice I c ahead.

i think Mooresville will be just fine. we need to remember that this conference is THE toughest in the entire state right now with legitimate title contenders. if Vance goes big and Mooresville gets healthy for the playoffs, they could surprise some people.

This injury bug we’ve got right now is really bad

Jim West over at CV has Vance going 4AA and Mooresville going 4A,’along with Page, who would be the largest ADM in the 4A West bracket. obviously it’s a little early but he does good work.

Just remember hearing from an East Forsyth coach about Vance being a 4a contender and Mooresville surprising ppl in 4AA

I don't see Hough as a contender. If MHS rb Quamir Conner does not exit the game early. They take an L against Mooresville. They had no answer for him. They struggled with a horrible LKN team for the 1st half, a team i believe some JV teams could beat.

I believe on the defensive side of the ball they are better. The QB has not gotten better and the OL is suspect. The coaches have been bragging so much about how talented they are and the players live on social media. They forgot they were going to have to back up all the hype and talk.

I believe just as you said Hough is more of an outside and perimeter team. The RB transfer from AK is fast but young (Soph) he wants the ball in space and not running up inside the tackles. They like to run swing passes to get him in space. The OL is actually built for run blocking and not very athletic in the pass blocking area. Bonner-Stewart has to have a clean pocket to be near accurate if you get him off his spot completion percentage goes down but he does have running ability. Defensively they are much better in the front seven and have athletes. Fields is very good in the backend but can get caught up in the extra curriculars. All in all same Hough team with a year more experience. They have a backloaded IMECK schedule which will test there readiness and depth.

I think at the 7 game mark you kinda are who you are. Unless you are getting back a high impact player ( QB, impact defensive kid) then the chances of you getting significantly better or changing scheme is pretty unusual. Hough has played one real team and got one TD even though they were at home and played nearly the entire game in Mville territory. Even against a LKN team that Creek had 49 on at half they only had 2 scores at half time. I think its fair to say they have a boat load of talent but are really struggling to produce points.

Beyond some of the things mentioned above I really think its hard to develop an identity on offense when you are trying to run much of your offense through a WR. I think Groulx is a talented kid but he requires a QB who can get him the ball and what I saw was circus catches just to have a chance at completions. They are big thick ankled Olineman with a huge power QB and several options at RB and yet they just dont seem to want to establish a run game. They want to throw it around. Threw it 33 times against LKN, ran it 23 outside of KBS scrambles. Was 12-25 against Mville and 3 of those were circus catches from Groulx.

They are very good defensively. best group they have had mostly because they are much better upfront. Paez , Hiliard and the big freshman kid are stout, the Monroe kid is a banger and as much as I could do without the antics they are dynamite on the backend. They run that 4-2-5 that is popular now with Fields as the rover and they cover alot of ground. I would like to see what happens when someone pounds it a bit on them. Mville just couldnt do much and they were afraid to test the middle of the field.

They also have an unreal kicking game. Kid is kicking FG's from 55 yards and the punter is crazy good. Thinking about goingto the NM game if I am back intown.

Hurts more this year than in most years for us... we don’t have anywhere close to the numbers we’ve had in the past. And nothing flashing down on JV.... a bit worried beyond this year. But we will worry about that later.
